    Instructions

    Objectives:

LO1: The student will understand the importance of risk management planning.
LO2: The student will be able to develop a Risk Management Plan.

    Instructions:

Fill in the attached template for the project described below. You have limited available
information; therefore, you can make assumptions. In the "Procedures" section, be
sure to highlight the change that will be introduced in this particular project with regard
to the playground. In the "Risk Identification" section, be sure to include a discussion
on how financial risks will be identified, then further discuss these in the subsequent
    sections, as appropriate.

Project Title: Building and opening a new Toy4All store

Project Description: Toy4All toy store chain wants to open a new store in a small
town. For this project, the Director of the Projects Department assigned Mr. Play as the
project manager, an employee with five years of service in the company. He will have to
plan and coordinate all activities related to the new store's opening, which, unlike other
existing stores, will be equipped with a children's playground. He will need to consider
the activities: building the store, setting up the interior and the exterior, supplying the
store with toys, defining the personnel structure, and preparing the store for the
opening. Also, the details regarding advertising must not be forgotten. The project
duration is one year and will end with an opening event.
Due to the professionalism proven when building previous stores, the company decided
to work with the same building contractor (for the construction phase). By now, all
licenses and permits required to start the work have been obtained.
The role of Mr. Play will not be easy. He was assigned due to his idea to include a
playground in the store, which, once applied, should lead to increased sales figures.
While the entire management has supported the idea, some heads of departments in
the organization were not very pleased by his assignment, considering him too young

    Due on Oct 19, 2025 11:59 PM

and inexperienced for such a project. The most serious concerns are related to the
project's impact on the already planned activities that will support sales in the holiday
    season.

    Instructions to the Author:
This is a template for developing a Risk Management Plan.
The template includes instructions to the author, boilerplate text, and fields that should be replaced with the values and
    information specific to the project.
Blue italicized text enclosed in boxes provide instructions to the document author, or describes the intent, assumptions, and
context for the content included in this document. This instructional text should be removed from the final document to make
    the plan more readable.
Text enclosed in angle brackets (<text>) indicates a field that should be replaced with information specific to a project.
Text in black and tables are provided as boilerplate examples of wording and formats that may be used or modified as required
to support a specific project. The information and outline is a suggestion to assist in developing project documents; they are not
mandatory formats. The author should tailor the content of the document to fit the project that this work product will support.

Risk Management is the process of identifying, analyzing, and responding to risk factors throughout the life of a project and in
the best interests of its objectives. Proper risk management implies control of possible future events and is proactive rather
    than reactive.
The purpose of risk management is to

    • Identify possible risks

    • Reduce or allocate risks

    • Provide a rational basis for better decision making about all risks

    • Plan
Assessing and managing risks is the best weapon against project catastrophes. By evaluating risks and the plan for potential
problems and developing strategies to address them, you’ll improve the chances of a successful, if not, perfect project.
    Additionally, continuous risk management will

    • Ensure high priority risks are aggressively managed and that all risks are cost-effectively managed throughout the project

    • Provide management at all levels with the information required to make informed decisions on issues critical to project
    success

If you don’t actively attack risks, they will actively attack your project.
DSS Project Management recommends the DSS Risk Assessment Toolkit as the starting point for developing the project risk
    management plan.

Assignments  Week 1 Assignment -Research Proposal

For your Marketing Plan assignment due in Week 7, you will submit a two-page
proposal outlining the topic you selected. This proposal will be the foundation for
your comprehensive 10 page marketing plan, focusing on a brand of choice. The
proposal will help you clarify and refine your approach before you begin the final
    paper.
Your proposal should include the following three sections, each with a bold
    heading:

    1. Topic:
Identify the brand or company you have selected for your marketing plan.
Provide a brief background on the brand or company, including relevant
details such as its industry, size, market position, and any pertinent history.

    2. Rationale:
Explain why this company requires a new marketing plan. Consider
whether the company is expanding into a new market, launching a new
product or service, or revising its existing marketing strategy.
Include a clear justification for why a new marketing plan is necessary. For
example, discuss the company's current challenges or opportunities, such
as declining sales, increased competition, or shifting consumer preferences.

    3. Strategy:
Define the target market for your marketing plan. Specifically, describe the
demographic (e.g., age, gender, income level, education, occupation) and
psychographic (e.g., lifestyle, values, interests, purchasing behavior)
characteristics of the audience you aim to reach. Consider factors such as
geographic location (urban vs. rural, specific regions or countries) and any
specific cultural or behavioral trends that may influence the market.
Indicate where you will source the information needed for your final paper.
List at least four specific references that will provide the research and data

    [https://myclassroom.apus.edu/d2l/lms/dropbox/user/folders_list.d2l?ou=783394](https://myclassroom.apus.edu/d2l/lms/dropbox/user/folders_list.d2l?ou=783394)

necessary for developing your marketing plan. Include the specific reference
    not just the name.
Reminder: The four references you list here are intended to guide the
development of your final paper and are not part of the reference page for
this assignment. The reference page for this proposal should include all the
sources used in writing the proposal itself. Be sure to format all references
according to the required citation style.

    Formatting and Submission:
Ensure your proposal is formatted in APA style, with appropriate citations and
    references to scholarly sources.
Write in Essay format not as an outline or bullets
    Submit as a Word document

    Course Objectives:
Develop a comprehensive marketing plan for a brand.
Define the process for successfully introducing a new product or service to
    market.

This proposal is crucial to laying the groundwork for your detailed marketing plan, so
carefully consider your choices and approach as you prepare it.

Additional Information: Advice on Choosing a Brand
When selecting a brand for your marketing plan, it's important to choose one that
would benefit from a fresh or revised marketing strategy. Below are some factors to
consider to ensure your selected brand is a good fit for this assignment:

    1. Brand in Need of a Marketing Overhaul
Look for brands that are facing challenges such as:

Declining Sales or Market Share: A brand that has experienced stagnation or
decreased consumer demand over time could benefit from a revitalized
    marketing approach.
Brand Image Issues: Brands damaged by negative publicity, poor customer
perceptions, or outdated branding may need a strategic refresh.
Competitive Pressure: A brand in a highly competitive market or an industry
experiencing new entrants or disruptive technologies may require a new
strategy to maintain or grow market share.

    Due on Oct 12, 2025 11:55 PM

Changing Consumer Preferences: Brands that haven't adapted to shifting
consumer expectations, technological advances, or new social trends might
benefit from a targeted rebranding or marketing strategy.

    2. Opportunities for Market Expansion or Innovation
    Consider brands that are:

Entering a New Market: A company expanding into a new geographic region,
demographic segment, or industry may need a comprehensive marketing plan
to penetrate this new market effectively.
Launching a New Product or Service: If a company introduces a new
product or service that hasn't yet been marketed or is poorly received, this
could be an excellent opportunity to develop a fresh plan targeting the right
    audience.
Diversifying its Offerings: A brand diversifying its product line or broadening
its target demographic can benefit from a well-thought-out marketing strategy
to ensure the new offering resonates with the target audience.

    4. Data Availability and Research Feasibility
Finally, ensure that sufficient data and research are available for your chosen brand.
    This could be through:

Publicly available reports, such as annual reports or industry analyses.
Access to reputable sources of consumer behavior data, trends, and
    competitive analysis.
Case studies or examples from similar brands or companies that have faced
    comparable challenges.

Choosing a brand that clearly needs a new or revised marketing strategy will allow
you to develop a relevant and actionable plan. Ensure the brand has a clearly
defined issue, opportunity, or objective that can be addressed through a
    comprehensive marketing approach.

    **Discussion Question APA STYLE**

This week, you begin to lay the foundation for your academic and professional success. Your efforts begin with a vision, which includes your own definition of success. Your vision may vary from those of your colleagues, but this does not mean you have to take these first steps alone.

Walden University and the College of Nursing also have a vision and mission, which include helping you to make your own vision a reality. Members of your new academic community, such as faculty, support teams, and fellow students, can also be helpful. Current practitioners and other members of the professional community can also help you to clarify your vision.

This Week’s Discussion asks you to consider how the Walden mission and vision as well as the College of Nursing's mission and vision apply to your professional and academic goals. You will also begin to identify individuals and teams who can help you along the way as you begin designing the “blueprint”—your Academic Success and Professional Development Plan—that will guide you toward your own vision for academic and professional success. Finally, you will explain the importance of networking and how it can help you achieve your professional and academic goals.

    **To Prepare:**

    · Review the Walden and College of Nursing mission and vision statements, Walden’s goals and University Outcomes, and the MSN and PMC Program Learning Outcomes presented in this Module's Learning Resources.

    · Reflect on your professional and academic goals as they relate to your program/specialization.

    · Consider how the information in these resources fit with your own goals and to your becoming a scholar-practitioner.

    · Also consider academic and professional individuals and teams with whom you may collaborate in support of your efforts as a student at the university and as a professional within your organization and career.

    · Consider the importance of networking and how it may help you achieve your professional and academic goals.

**Post** a brief introduction of yourself to your colleagues. Include an explanation as to how Walden’s vision, mission, goals, and social change initiatives relate to your professional and academic goals and to your becoming a scholar-practitioner. Also include an explanation for how the Walden MSN Program Outcomes and perspectives relate to your professional and academic goals and to your becoming a scholar-practitioner. Finally, explain why networking is important and how it may help you achieve your professional and academic goals.

You have have a new 28-year-old graduate student pursuing a master's degree in environmental science as a patient. She reports that over the past three months, she has been experiencing persistent feelings of sadness and a lack of interest in her studies and hobbies, which previously brought her joy. She reports difficulty concentrating, low energy levels, and feelings of worthlessness. Jane has also been withdrawing from her friends and family, missing social gatherings, and spending most of her time alone in her apartment.

Her sleep patterns have become irregular—she struggles to fall asleep at night but frequently oversleeps in the morning, causing her to miss important classes and deadlines. Her appetite has diminished, leading to noticeable weight loss. She acknowledges fleeting thoughts of hopelessness but denies any immediate plans to harm herself. Despite this, she feels overwhelmed and believes she is "failing at life."

She recently visited her primary care physician, who referred her to a mental health professional. After an initial assessment, Jane was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). However, she is hesitant about taking medication due to concerns about side effects and feels skeptical about whether therapy will truly help her.

    1.
    **Symptoms and Diagnosis:**

    · How might her symptoms affect her daily functioning and relationships?

    2.
