    **## DiscussionAssignmentInstructions4.docx**

    BUSI 301

    **Discussion Assignment Instructions**

    Overview

Discussions bring dialogue and communication into our learning experience. Unlike so much of the unsubstantiated opinion we see in the public square and social media, these discussions provide a space for in-depth analysis and application of the topics in our Learn readings and presentations. Each discussion is a mini-research paper developing conclusions that are supported by scholarly sources and critical analysis. The replies are expressly assigned to respond to classmates with different conclusions or analysis and require civil discourse to broaden understanding of the topics.

    Instructions

Each discussion consists of 2 parts:

    1) a thread of at least 300 words in response to the provided prompt and

    2) replies of at least 150 words each to 2 classmates’ threads.

Each thread and each reply must reference at least 2 scholarly sources other than the course textbook, cited in current APA format (including both in-text citations and a reference list). You must also support each thread and reply with thoughtful analysis (considering assumptions, analyzing implications, and comparing/contrasting concepts) and Biblical worldview integration.

Well-developed, complete worldview analysis of the situation requires more than simply adding a Bible verse at the end of the post. Each thread and each reply must include at least 1 verse from Scripture, quoted and applied as an integral part of the discussion of the applicable issues in the context of a Biblical worldview.

For each reply, read the threads posted by your classmates and reply to 2 threads that presented a different conclusion than your thread. Note that comments such as “I like what you said,” “that is a good comment,” and “I disagree with your comment” do not constitute complete replies. Rather, state reasons that support your conclusions with additional and/or alternate research/ideas/thoughts.

Submit each thread by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Thursday of the assigned Module: Week. Submit two replies by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of the same Module: Week.

    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

This week has two assignment deliverables, the project charter and a one- to two-page paper written in APA format, including references. These deliverables are worth 100 points total.
First, you need to decide on your project. You have two ways to proceed.
    1. Use a sample project charter provided.
    2. Create your own project charter based on your experience or using the project examples provided.
Regardless of the project you decide to move forward with, assume the business case for the project is approved to move forward.
Remember, when selecting a project of interest to you, specifically if you choose create your own project charter, avoid picking one that is either too big or too small. For example, do not decide to build a new stadium for your local sports team (too big) or to plant your summer garden (too small). Consider your existing organization because there probably exists a need for a project to fix, improve, or expand your organization. Remember, a project can be a product, service, or even an operation. Be sure your selection is an actual project (temporary endeavor with start and end dates) and not routine work. Do not select a topic, such as a construction project, unless you understand construction well. Projects may vary from a few hundred thousand dollars to a few million dollars and should last between 6 months and 2 years. To ensure you are on the right track, contact your instructor with any questions.
    #### **Assignment Instructions**
    ### [**Choose the Project Charter Type**](https://devryu.instructure.com/courses/129349/pages/course-project-overview?module_item_id=16871096#dpPanel1)
    #### **Use a Sample Project Charter**
Choose the type of project charter you want to create. There are three samples you can choose from and they are listed below.
Each of the sample project charters listed above is missing one or more of the required project charter sections, listed in the Complete the Project Charter tab below.
    – Find which sections are missing in the project charter you selected.
    – Provide what information you think should be added for each of the sections missing.
    – You have flexibility with the information you provide for any of the missing sections.
    #### **Create Your Own Project Charter**
You can create your own project charter based on your experience or use a project example provided. When you create your project charter, make sure you include all of the required project charter sections listed below. If you don't know specific information regarding the project you decide to use, please note you may need to research some subject matter related to the type of project you select so that you understand the project better. However, it is understood this is a fictitious project so you can create information that may be needed to complete the project charter. Just make sure you provide the sources you used.
    **Project Examples**
    – Constructing a building or facility
    – Designing a new transportation vehicle
    – Acquiring a new accounting or payroll system
    – Opening a nail salon
    – Starting a motorcycle shop

    **## PaperCurrentEventsEthicsAssignmentInstructions.docx**

    BUSI 301

**Paper: Current Events Ethics Assignment Instructions**

    Overview

Our study of ethics in business can sometimes seem esoteric and removed from day-to-day management responsibilities, but media are filled with real-life examples of unethical business behavior that harms the businesses involved, as well as their shareholders, customers, employees, and other stakeholders. This paper assignment asks you to find such an example, examine what went wrong, and apply the materials we’ve been reading to develop preventions and solutions. Take an in-depth look at the situation through the lens of secular legal and ethical principles but also through the lens of a Biblical worldview.

    Instructions

Identify a news story that has been published within the 30 days preceding the due date of this assignment that describes a breach of business ethics. You may find this through a web search, library research, professional journals, professional association websites, newspapers, etc. The breach may be criminal, based in tort, or otherwise unethical.

    Your paper will:

    · Briefly explain the situation and the parties involved.

    · Identify your ethical standard; explain how this situation violated that standard.

    · Explain how you would have prevented this situation and would now respond, including support from scholarly and Biblical sources.

Support your analysis with at least 3 scholarly sources other than the course materials (your article will be one), properly cited in APA format in in-text citations and in a reference list. You must also integrate Biblical worldview analysis, including at least 2 Biblical principles with APA citations.

This paper must contain at least 800 words and follow current APA format but does not require an abstract. The title page and reference list do not count towards the length requirement. Submit your paper as a Word document.

Note: Your assignment will be checked for originality via the Turnitin plagiarism tool.
