    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

Hello Barbara, your approach to defining and measuring self-esteem is well-articulated, especially in how you distinguish between cognitive and affective components (Rader et al., 2024). Your reasons for preferencing positively stated items are sound especially with regard to the conclusion by van Sonderen et al. (2013) showing that reverse-worded items may be misleading and possibly less reliable. However, this means that this method may also improve objectivity, but could equally lead to the problem of acquiescence bias which is when the respondent agrees to everything say regardless of what is stated. Eliminating all the negatively worded items may lead to the reduction of this balance and even decrease the stability of the measure. In efforts to eliminate bias, has it been possible to perform validity checks or have add neutral or filler items that will not cloud the scale but reduce any bias?

**Part 1:** Analysis of the scenario of the school climate

**Scenario:** _You have just been made principal of a failing school. There is no collegiality among teachers and the morale of the staff is at an all-time low. The union representatives are militant and the School Advisory Team seldom reaches consensus without a struggle. You obtain a copy of an evaluation of the previous principal. At the end of the year, you will be evaluated using the same instrument. You have one year to improve conditions in your school._

By the end of this project (all 6 parts leading up to the final project), you will develop a school improvement plan that requires you to analyze the scenario of a “broken” school climate that results from the previous administrator’s communication style. This school is a Title 1 school. Use the Evaluation Sample and Demographics and the William Cecil Golden School Leadership Development Program located in
[Module 1: Lecture Materials & Resources](https://stu.instructure.com/courses/44806/pages/module-1-lecture-materials-and-resources) to research the issue and provide an analysis of the school climate resulting from the previous administrator's communication style.

    **## Discussion9.docx**

**Chapter 9 Discussion Board ( Board of Directors Diversity and Company Diversity Commitments)**

You are to answer the following questions in a multiple full paragraph response (25 points) and respond to a classmate in a substantial full paragraph post. Simply saying "I agree with you " is not an appropriate response. (5 points)

    1. Provide a full paragraph biography on each member of the Board of Directors for your company. Include pictures. The company website is a good source. Note: The Board of Directors are not the Key Executives, with the exception of the CEO in most cases.

    2. Based on the photos and backgrounds, how diverse do you feel the Board of Directors is? Consider the female/male makeup, the ethnic make up, age and the different races of board members.

    3. Look at the companies main website. Does the company have a webpage(s) that addresses diversity. You may have to dig a little to find this. Sometimes there is a tab in there commitment to stakeholders or social responsibility sections. Try a search once on their main webpage for diversity. Explain the companies commitment to diversity, including some of their
    **specific diversity programs**.

Remember proper documentation is needed if outside sources are used.

Warning: Any second posting or edits (including add on documentation) of initial postings will not be graded. You are not to look at other students posts, then make your initial post or corrections. Create your response in Word, then cut and paste it into the discussion board.
