[>Criminal homework help](https://www.sweetstudy.com/fields/law-criminal)

At present, Jay is an adult male, reported to be in his twenties (Tully, 2019). Jay grew up with his biological parents and three sisters and reports that he did not experience any abuse within the home (Tully, 2019). Jay reports feeling that his sisters sometimes received more attention than him and at one time he took his parent’s medication to gain attention (Tully, 2019). Jay’s mom was diagnosed with epilepsy and his father was her primary caretaker which impeded their ability to work ad so they relied on state benefits (Tully, 2019). Jay reports having a difficult time learning in school and experienced bullying to the degree of physical assault (Tully, 2019). Jay left high-school at age 16 after receiving several qualifications in technology, from there he attended college for three years (Tully, 2019). After college, Jay worked at a call-center for seven months and volunteered at a charity shop for five years (Tully, 2019). Jay reports having his first relationship with an 18-year-old female when he was 19-years-old (Tully, 2019). The relationship ended after about three years due to alleged violence towards Jay (Tully, 2019). After this, he moved back with his parent’s for about six months before moving to his own place, and he reports staying single for around five years (Tully, 2019). Jay reports entering into a long-distance relationship with an adult female who he would meet every couple of months for sex (Tully, 2019). Jay had not spoke to the woman since his arrest and assumes the relationship is over (Tully, 2019). Records show no indication of mental health or substance abuse issues (Tully, 2019). Jay denies having accessed indecent photos of children, although does report that he looked up a picture of a naked woman wearing a diaper which he used while masturbating about once per week (Tully, 2019). Jay connected with a person online who was claiming to be a 12-year-old female but was actually a vigilante group that claims to hunt sexual predators (Tully, 2019). Over a four-day period, Jay was alleged to have groomed and then enticed the girl to meet him and engage in sexual acts, including intercourse (Tully, 2019). Jay is awaiting sentencing and the Judge has asked an expert psychologist to complete assessments related to Jay’s possible sexual deviance (Tully, 2019).

**What Role did the Psychologist Play in Selecting the Risk Assessment used in this Case?**

According to Tully (2019), when assessing sex offenders, structured risk assessments perform better than unstructured clinical judgement and the use of both actuarial measures as well as structured professional judgement risk assessments. Tully (2019), explains that the combination of these two approaches benefits the professional’s ability to formulate risk, develop plans for treatment, and reduce the risk of sexual reoffending (p.25).

**Characteristics of the Assessment that make it Effective for this Case**

In this case, several assessments were used to evaluate Jay and provide recommendations. Psychometric assessments including the response style assessment, the Beck Anxiety Inventory, Rosenberg measure, and the Social-Problem-Solving-Inventory-Revised. The results of these assessments were taken into consideration as part of the risk assessment (Tully, 2019). Psychometric tests to examine all attitudes and difficulties that are related to sexual offending are not available (Tully, 2019), therefore, additional assessments are needed to identify potential risk of offending.

The Risk Matrix 2000 is useful for assessing the risk of sexual reconviction by comparing the individual to groups of sex offenders through consideration of various static factors (Tully, 2019). Because the Risk Matrix “relies on number of sentencing appearances,” this assessment was provisionally applied to Jay’s case due to him having only had one sentencing appearance (Tully, 2019, p.30). Although the Risk Matrix 2000 “offers a useful filter” for identifying offenders who might need more treatment, it is difficult to apply the Risk Matrix 2000 statistics at the individual level (Tully, 2019, p.31).

The Risk for Sexual Violence Protocol (RSVP) is the most widely used tool for risk assessment of sex offenders (Tully, 2019). The RSVP can be effective in Jay’s case because it is not a predictor of sexual violence but a way to identify relevant risk factors, develop a formulation for the offender’s sexual violence, and establish risk management plans (Tully, 2019). According to Sutherland et al. (2012), the RSVP has an overall good interrater reliability when used by professional who are trained specifically in forensic risk assessment. Tully (2019), states that this tool is generally considered to be a “valid and useful way of assessing risk at an individual level” (p.32).

**Selected Assessment Tool and its Impact the Outcome of the Case**

Sex crimes against children are possibly the most disturbing and of the cases reported, have a high rate of occurrence (Bartol & Bartol, 2021). The assessment tools in this case are imperative for identifying the potential for reoffending and developing the most effective treatment plan to support Jay. According to Bartol & Bartol (2021), recidivism is frequently studies and is one of the most important aspects of sex offending. The comprehensive use of assessment tools is imperative to understanding risk of reoffending and is the primary reason for assessing offenders (Bartol & Bartol, 2021). The outcome of Jay’s sentencing, therefore, will be guided by the formulation developed by the assessing psychologist.

You are working with the Martinez family for therapy. Marta and Jose have been married for 4 years and have 2 children together. They are coming to see you due to increasing conflict and arguments about a lack of intimacy in their relationship and differing views on parenting. Utilizing structural family therapy, please identify how you would begin work with this family. What would be your strategies for the first three sessions? Consider each of the following scenarios and identify a behavioral intervention to address each issue in family work.

– A teenager not complying with curfew.
– One member of the couple not picking up their dirty clothes from off the floor.
– A child who comes into the parents' bed in the middle of the night.
– A teen that has been using the computer in an irresponsible manner.

Provide a brief scenario in family practice in which there are two conflicting areas of ethical guidance from the NASW Code of Ethics. For this question, you are expected to give a brief description of the practice issue and identify the two conflicting ethical standards.

Aida and her teenage daughter, Maya, started seeing you for therapy. Maya has been getting in trouble at school for truancy, lateness to class, missed homework, and last week she was caught smoking in the school bathroom. Aida reports frustration in how to handle Maya’s increasing poor decision-making at school and defiance at home. Using the family theory of your choice, discuss how you would begin work with this family. To answer this question, you must select an appropriate family therapy theory discussed in this course and use that theory to develop a plan of work with this family. You should discuss how that theory will guide your assessment, interactions with the family, and intervention selection.

Greg and Aleeya began seeing you due to family conflict related to Greg’s alcohol abuse. Greg recently returned home from his third inpatient rehab placement for alcoholism, and the couple is struggling to redefine their marriage without alcohol as their main argument topic. Utilize solution-focused therapy to discuss a treatment plan for this couple. To answer this question, you should provide a brief treatment plan – one goal, two SMART objectives, and an intervention for each objective (what will you do, utilizing the theory, as the licensed social worker to support the family in achieving the objective?).

Hey All,

After reading and studying several cases, I decided to focus my discussion post on the Ted Bundy case. This case was very interesting, and I learned a lot. Due to studying this case, I think that I would like to someday be able to administer assessments to help Theodore Robert Bundy was a serial murderer who confessed to about 30 crimes perpetrated in several locations throughout America between 1974 and 1978. (Wikimedia Foundation, 2022). Ted Bundy is possibly the most brutal and renowned serial killer in recent US history. According to Khan (2024), his story exemplifies how traumatic experiences in infancy may have a lasting influence on adulthood, changing one's personality and impacting life decisions. According to Wikimedia Foundation (2022), Bundy had a tough upbringing; he had a troubled connection with his stepfather, and his timidity made him an easy target for bullying. Bundy's IQ and social abilities allowed him to have a successful academic career, and he had several seemingly common emotional relationships with women. Bundy led a double life. Between 1974 and 1978, he went to college, had a political career, and maintained a long-term relationship while attacking and murdering at least 30 women and killing at least 20 others. (Khan, 2024) According to Khan (2024), Bundy would imitate authority persons, such as police officers and firefighters, to earn the trust of his victims. He often strangled or bludgeoned his victims and then disfigured them after they died. Bundy's case was intriguing since he was charismatic and eloquent. Many others questioned how a clean-cut law student with no criminal record could be responsible for scores of deaths. He managed to elude capture for decades by leaving almost no evidence behind. (Wikimedia Foundation, 2022).

According to Khan (2024), Bundy scored 39 out of 40 on the Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R) during his psychiatric examination. A semi-structured interview and a review of "collateral information" were used to complete the 22-item inventory of his recorded behavior and observed personality characteristics. It is used to discriminate between those with antisocial personality disorders and those with psychopathy, determining whether they should be hospitalized in the criminal justice system. Following his first arrest, Bundy was assessed by a forensic psychologist, Dr. Al Carlisle, who was assigned by the court. Carlisle employed a variety of tactics, including the Thematic Apperception Test. According to the Wikimedia Foundation (2022), serial murderer Ted Bundy was questioned by Dr. William Carlisle, who proposed that a variety of variables might have led to Bundy's merciless attitude, which was developed and impacted by his childhood experiences. Dr. Carlisle questioned people who knew Bundy and discovered that he lied, violated rules, stole, and changed personalities like a chameleon. His mental health records indicated the existence of narcissistic personality disorder, as well as a disordered attachment style, but no evidence of medication use. (Wikimedia Foundation, 2022).

**Discuss the nutritional needs of your resident.**

1.
**Are they on a therapeutic diet? If so, why?**

The resident's dietary requirements are essential to maintaining his health and avoiding complications. The resident's BMI is 34.3, and he falls under the obese category, placing him at greater risk for many chronic diseases. A balanced diet and controlled calorie count are required to enhance his body weight control and overall health.

The resident is not currently under any therapeutic diet, but in light of his status of obesity, he could be subjected to a structured diet. A therapeutic diet is commonly prescribed to manage a disease, cause weight reduction, or promote overall health. Obesity also comes along with many diseases, and the resident should, therefore, be subjected to a diet low in added fats, refined sugars, and added calories.

A healthy diet should be based on lean proteins like chicken, fish, legumes, and generous quantities of vegetables and fruits. Whole grains like quinoa and brown rice are substituted with refined carbs. It also means regulating the amounts to avoid overeating

2.
**According to the textbook, what are their daily caloric requirements?**

Based on general nutrition recommendations, the 34.3 BMI adult should consume approximately 1,800 to 2,200 daily calories to maintain the same weight. However, to attain effective weight loss, the diet in terms of caloric content should be 1,500-1,800 calories per day. The reduced diet shall provide the resident with the necessary nutrition to achieve a healthier body weight

3.
**How do they take in nutrients? Do they need assistance? Are they at risk for aspiration?**

The residents only need assistance with the setup, and they eat independently. This implies the resident eats independently but possibly needs help preparing the meal or setting up the tray. The resident does not exhibit any signs of aspiration risk, indicating that the resident does not experience trouble swallowing and lacks a history of choking. Nonetheless, monitoring the resident's status regarding safely consuming food is also essential.

4.
**What is the height, weight, and BMI?**

Height: 5'4" (65.0 in)

Weight: 177 lb (89.4 kg)

BMI: 34.3 (Obese category)

5.
**What was their average fluid intake? What % did they eat?**

Fluid intake: 240 ml (without nutritional supplements)

Food intake: 100 %

Fluid intake is minimal, and the failure to document food intake is worrisome regarding whether the resident receives adequate nutrition. Dehydration and malnutrition can lead to weakness, confusion, and other complications.

6.
**Do you think the resident’s nutritional needs are being met? Why or why not? What recommendations do you have?**

The resident consumes 100% of the food, meaning they are meeting their dietary intake and fluid intake Even though the resident is consuming enough food, a confirmation should be made that the resident is consuming balanced meals according to their diabetic diet plan.

The resident uses bed rails on both sides, indicating the need for support and safety while the bed is occupied. They require a full-body lift transfer with a wheelchair sling, which also shows impaired mobility. In addition, using a mechanical device for transfers and a motorized wheelchair with a Roho cushion is evidence of mobility deficits that require assistive technology to move and ensure comfort.

The resident is at significant risk for skin breakdown. Impaired mobility, obesity, and the use of assistive devices all heighten the risk of pressure ulcers. Proper skin care and assessment can prevent infection and slow-healing wounds.

The resident's food intake appears sufficient, as they consume 100% of their meals. result in dizziness, confusion, and kidney problems. It is vital to address this concern to ensure the resident's health is maintained.

Recommendations:

· Continue to encourage balanced meals as per the diabetic diet.

· Educate the resident on portion control and the importance of hydration.

7.
**What education on nutrition would be appropriate for your resident?**

Providing nutrition education can empower the resident to make informed choices about their dietary intake. They must understand the importance of consuming various nutrient-dense foods to maintain health. They must also be taught to restrict unhealthy fats and sugars and to increase fiber and protein intake. Meal planning and mindful eating are some of how sustainable dietary habits can be reinforced.

| **Analyze your head-to-toe assessment findings in the section above. List three abnormal findings.**
· Low Fluid Intake (240 ml) – This is less than the recommended daily amount and can lead to dehydration.
· Elevated BMI (34.3) – The resident is obese, which increases the risk for diseases like diabetes and heart disease.
· High Risk for Skin Breakdown – The resident risks developing pressure ulcers because of their limited mobility.
**Determine a second concern for your resident. Explain why you chose this.**
Risk of Dehydration
Dehydration is a serious problem that results in complications such as urinary tract infections, kidney problems, and cognitive impairment. Since the resident’s fluid intake is only 240 ml, they may be at risk of dehydration. Dehydration may result in constipation, dry skin, and dizziness, which may also result in a high risk of falls. |
| **Create a plan related to your second concern. What is the goal? What outcome are you striving for to promote, maintain, or restore your resident’s health? Be specific and discuss outcomes you believe are obtainable during your 4-week clinical experience. It should be something you can do or assist with as a student nurse.**
Increase the resident's fluid intake to at least 1,500-2,000 ml daily to improve hydration and prevent dehydration-related complications.
The resident should demonstrate improved hydration in four weeks by displaying increased fluid intake, stable vital signs, and no dehydration symptoms. |
| **Take action. Determine three nursing interventions that address your second concern and provide a rationale for how the interventions promote your resident’s health. Discuss how they will be implemented.**
**Monitor Fluid Intake and Output**
Keeping a daily record of fluid intake and urine output will monitor hydration status and show any trends that should be noted. This will include documenting any signs of dehydration, such as dry skin, dizziness, or low urine output. A hydration chart needs to be maintained, and trends seen should prompt adjustment. Continual assessment will allow early intervention if the resident persists with low fluid intake, avoiding dehydration complications.
**Encourage Regular Fluid Intake**
The resident should be encouraged to drink water and other hydrating fluids during the day. The reminders to drink fluids can be scheduled hourly, with fluids placed in convenient locations. Providing flavored water, herbal teas, or diluted juices can be more appealing to drink. Educating the resident on hydration benefits, i.e., energy and cognition improvement, will also help promote compliance. Family members or caregivers, if necessary, should also be engaged to reinforce the habit of drinking.
**Provide Hydrating Foods**
Feeding foods with high water content, such as watermelon, cucumbers, and soups, can help supplement fluid intake. Incorporating broth-based soups, yogurt, and hydrating fruits into the daily diet can increase fluid intake without requiring the resident to take large amounts of fluid at a single sitting. Popsicles created from natural fruit juice or electrolyte-containing drinks can also be an enjoyable method of increasing hydration. Educating the resident on the value of hydrating foods and making small, sustainable dietary changes can help in long-term hydration control ( ATI 2023) |
| **Evaluate the effectiveness of each intervention for your second assessment concern. Did the intervention promote, maintain, or restore health?**
Encouraging Fluid Intake – This intervention is successful if the resident consumes more fluids and responds by saying they feel better.
Monitoring Intake and Output – Keeping correct records will determine if additional steps need to be taken to ensure proper hydration.
Providing Hydrating Foods – If the resident consumes more high-water-content foods, their hydration status will improve, reducing the risk of dehydration-related complications. |
| **Evaluate the overall progression towards the goal for your second concern for your assigned resident. Was the goal achieved? Why or why not? Would you keep this goal or change it?**
Evaluation of the progress toward increasing fluid intake is required to determine the effectiveness of the interventions. The goal was partially achieved as the resident showed some improvement in hydration but did not consistently achieve the expected level of 1,500-2,000 ml of fluid intake daily. This was due to occasional refusal to accept fluids and insistence on solid food.
Alterations such as offering more fluids through food and providing fluids in smaller, more frequent amounts may be necessary to promote hydration. The goal remains relevant, and the alteration of interventions will allow the resident to maintain enhanced hydration. Continued education and support are needed to maintain progress and prevent dehydration complications. |

## Overview

In today’s information age, customers have access to various digital platforms to access and share information. Customers also use these platforms to communicate with service providers, share opinions, and provide feedback. Therefore, it is important for product owners and service providers to be ready with a response plan for all communications over digital platforms.

You are a regional marketing director of a theme park and responsible for designing marketing strategy for the reopening of the park. Each department is helping you with the relevant and required information. As the date of reopening of the parks gets closer, the business intelligence unit of the organization in the scenario has noticed a surge of negative opinions among consumers. This is evident not only on social media platforms but also across a host of other digital media platforms, such as the organization’s websites and other digital information sources. A major cause of concern is that the organization’s ethics are being questioned in most of these negative opinions.

The business intelligence unit has sent a memo to share their concerns. The CMO has asked you to respond to this memo by creating a recommendation report.

## Prompt

Write a recommendation report, in a memo format, to the CMO of the organization in the course scenario, describing the strategies to minimize the negative opinion from consumers. Refer to the Business Intelligence Memo attached to ensure adjustments and additions to the plan for stopping negative publicity. In your memo, emphasize the need for cross-functional effort alignment, crisis management, social media response methods, and CSR communications.

Specifically, you must address the following criteria:

1. Describe how you must now pivot from your previous plan to introduce **strategic changes** to stop negative publicity.

– Which two steps will you take to effectively address the negative publicity related to the park re-opening?
2. Describe the **cross-functional effort alignment.**
– How can the organization’s sales and operations departments help address the negative publicity?
– How can you use marketing channels to communicate the safety measures to the customers?
3. Explain how a **crisis communication plan** can improve the organization’s image, when aligned with ethical practices.

– How would you use your public relations efforts in crisis communication?
– How would you use your corporate website for crisis communication?
4. Describe the **social media response methods** to be used in this scenario.

– How would you address negative comments?
– How would you answer the safety-related questions?
5. Describe the **corporate social responsibility (CSR) communications** strategy in this scenario.

– What are the key CSR initiatives and policies for the organization?
– What are the key channels of communicating the CSR initiatives?

## What to Submit

Submit a 1-page Word document using double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, and one-inch margins. Included APA7 sources.
