    ## **Assignment Directions:**
A preliminary investigation report and system requirements for your proposal will be due at the end of Week 4.
**You will work with your group to create this report and agree on the final version of it. Each group member must contribute to the discussion in order to receive credit.**
You will work with your group, _**in the Club IT Meeting Room**_, to create a proposal to improve a process using IT, composed of the following two sections:
◾ The **preliminary investigation report** consists of findings, recommendations, and cost/benefit analysis. The goal is not to complete the proposal, but to demonstrate that you have a clear picture of the task before you. Use this [Template [Word Doc]](https://myclassroom.apus.edu/d2l/common/dialogs/quickLink/quickLink.d2l?ou=782854&type=coursefile&fileId=Week_0_Instructors%2fPreliminaryInvestigationAndRequirementsReportTemplate.docx) to create your report.
◾ The **system requirements** section contains the requirements for the new system. It describes the alternatives considered and makes a specific recommendation to management. This important document is the starting point for measuring the performance, accuracy, and completeness of the finished system before entering the systems design phase. The system requirements document is like a contract that identifies what the system developers must deliver to users.
    – You should write the system requirements in a language that users can understand so they can offer input, suggest improvements, and approve the final version.
    – Items should include:
    – A brief overview of the purpose and primary objectives of the system project
    – An overview of conceptual processes and data models
    – A brief overview addressing the following: security requirements, access ability requirements, data volume requirements, integration requirements, and recoverability requirements
    – Place requirements into numbered lists (preferred) or bullet points, each written in a specific format, using either "The system shall …" OR "The system must…".
    – Break the requirements down into at least two categories: functional and non-functional
    ### **Submission Instructions:**
    – Your completed proposal should be 2-3 pages in length
    – Your completed proposal must be submitted as ONE Word document attachment to this Assignment no later than Sunday at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
    – **Please include your group # in the document name (Ex: PreliminaryReport_Group1).**
    – **Each person in your group must submit this report individually so that it can be graded. Each group member will be submitting the same exact file. Note that every group member will receive the same grade.**
    – Do not submit multiple parts. I will grade only one.

    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

    **Case Study:**
Layla just got hired as the Web developer for a small business called Axe Grinders, which sells and repairs guitars and amps. The aging rock 'n' rollers who own Axe Grinders were taking care of business by phone and mail, but they just don't have too much time on their hands for this anymore. They decided they need a Web site so they could start processing orders more efficiently, spend their time on guitars, and get the business back in black.
These guys know music inside and out, but their guitars gently weep when it comes to Web sites. They don't need no education about the Web, so they hired Layla to do the job for them.
Layla's new bosses are same as her old boss. Part of the reason they hired her was because they thought it would be nice to have a pretty woman around the office. Layla doesn't want to be paranoid, but she is determined to prove that she's got brains and she knows how to use them.
On her first day, the owners tell Layla that they'd like their site to have some high-voltage effects. And because they have sold guitars to several celebrity musicians, they want a feature that can list their customers along with the guitar types they bought — users could either select a specific customer or guitar, or they could list 'em all. The owners have seen some other sites do something like this, so they know it is possible, but they wonder if she can make it happen. They tell her it is okay if she can't handle this task — it's just another brick in the wall. They could get satisfaction with just a plain HTML site instead, even though it would have to be updated constantly.
As she's climbing the stairway to her office, Layla realizes that scripting the Customer List feature will require more than the usual predefined JavaScript objects. And she knows that the code for the Customer List feature will include a lot of repetition. She is determined to make these features work as requested. Layla knows she's got to ramble. Because even though the owners said it would be ok to have a simpler site, she would really like to impress them.
    **Discussion Points:**
Consider this scenario and answer the following questions.
    – How can Layla use JavaScript custom objects to create the Customer List feature for the Web site?
    – How do custom objects help Web developers with repetitive programming tasks such as the ones in the Customer List feature?

    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

    **eneral Instructions for your Assignments:**
During Week 1 through Week 7 of this course, you will have a new assignment each week. You should create a new set of files for each assignment. During Weeks 1 through 7 you are NOT building on your previous assignment, like you did in WEBD121. Instead you are creating a new set of files for each assignment. However, make sure you save all of your files from each assignment because you will need them later for your Final Project. During Week 8, for your Final Project, you will create a Home Page with a navigation menu that uses JavaScript for drop-down sub-menus, which will link all of your previous assignments together, creating a comprehensive website that showcases all of your work this semester.
You must write the code files by hand for all assignments in this class. A simple text editor, such as Notepad or Notepad++ will suffice (or TextEdit on the Mac). DO NOT use GUI editors, such as FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc. You must write the code for your web page files yourself. If you are using a PC, it is strongly recommended that you download the free [Notepad++](https://notepad-plus-plus.org/) text editor because it contains extra features which assist with debugging, such as line numbering and color coding of different elements of syntax. **Mac users** should use the TextEdit text editor that comes with the Mac OS. However, if you are a Mac user, make sure you set [TextEdit](https://www.tekrevue.com/tip/textedit-plain-text-mode/) to use Plain Text by default.
Make sure all of your web pages comply with the HTML 5 standards and CSS standards. DO NOT use obsolete HTML elements and attributes from previous versions of HTML. By including the HTML 5 DOCTYPE declaration in your webpages, and validating all of your [HTML files,](https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload) you can be sure that your code complies with HTML 5. Also, make sure that your external style sheet (.css file) passes validation at the W3C [CSS Validation](https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_upload) Service. Make sure you use the "Validate by File Upload" option (and NOT the "Validate by Direct Input" option), on both of these validators since this is the way your instructor will check your pages when grading your assignments.
    **Specific Instructions for Assignment 4:**
Perform all of the following steps to complete this assignment:
    1) Begin by creating a new file in your text editor and include all of the basic HTML code like you did in your previous assignments. Or you can simply make a copy of your HTML file from last week and name the new copy LastFirstAssignment4.html (where "Last" is your last name and "First" is your first name), but be careful not to overwrite your file from last week because you will need it again when you do your Final Project during Week 8.
    2) Make sure you change the contents of the <title> tag to "Assignment 4" (just the words – not the quotation marks) and make sure your full name is inside of the <h1> heading, just like in your previous assignments. Also, delete the contents of the <script> tag — everything between the <!– and //–> tags, if you created your new file by making a copy of your previous file, because you will be creating a brand new page with different JavaScript code for this assignment. Save your file.
    3) Upload the new file to the HTML validator to check for compliance with the HTML5 [standards](https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload). Your file should pass validation. If you receive any errors or warnings, then go back through the previous steps of the assignment again until you have corrected all errors and your file passes validation.
    4) Create another new file in your text editor and save it as Assignment4.css or make a copy of last week's CSS file, being careful not to overwrite last week's file.
    5) In your CSS file, write code to set the background color of your page to #FFE6B3 and write code to center the h1 element. Save your CSS file.
    6) View your webpage again in your browser and confirm that your page has a light orange background and that the heading is centered. Upload your CSS file to the CSS validator to check for compliance with the CSS [standards](https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_upload). Your file should pass validation. If you receive any errors or warnings, debug your CSS code until you have corrected all errors and your file passes validation.
    7) Open your Assignment 4 HTML file for editing. Write JavaScript code to create an array of fruits stored in a variable called fruitArray. The array should include 5 of your favorite fruits (listed in random order, but make sure they are not listed in alphabetical order within the array).
Next, write JavaScript code to sort your fruitArray into alphabetical order and print the list of fruits to the webpage.
Hint: Look at Lab 7-4 for a similar example involving an array, but make sure to code yours to the specifications given in these instructions.
    8) Use the Date object and the Array object to determine and diplay information about the current date on your webpage. Your output should look like the following (adjusted for the current date):
Today is Friday, the 29th day of June in the year 2018.
Hint: Lab 7-7 will give you most of the code you need. However, you will also need to create an array containing the days of the week (fully spelled out). You will use the getDay() function to determine the current day of the week. This function returns a numeric value, so you will need to access the corresponding element of your array to get the day of the week fully spelled out. You will also need to adjust your output statements to incorporate the day of the week into your output message.
    9) You may add any additional HTML, CSS, or JavaScript content that you wish, to practice more of the features that you have learned about in your online textbook, as long as all of your code files still pass validation. However, do not add anything to your files that would make them invalid according to the standards. You can confirm this by making sure your files still pass validation.
    10) Before submitting your assignment, validate your HTML and CSS files one last time at [Validation Service](https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_upload) AND [W3C](https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload), using the "Validate by File Upload" option. **Note: It is critical that you debug and fix ALL errors identified by the validator before submitting your assignments. Contact your instructor for assistance if you are having difficulty debugging and fixing your errors because it is imperative that all of your code files pass validation.**
    11) Create a zip archive containing all pages pertaining to your website (.html files, .css files, .js files, image files, etc). Make sure you maintain the necessary directory structure in your zip archive so that your webpages will refer correctly when unzipped. In other words, if your images are in a sub-folder, in relation to the folder containing your .html file, then you need to maintain that same directory structure in your zip archive, too, including the sub-folder. **Submit only the zip file for grading.**
    **Validation Requirements:**
    Before submitting your web site:
    1. Validate your HTML file at [W3C](https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload), using the "Validate by File Upload" option, and fix any errors that the validator identifies before submitting your web site for grading.
    2. Validate your CSS file, using the " [Validate by File Upload](https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_upload)" option, and fix any errors that the validator identifies before submitting your web site for grading.
**Note: It is critical that you debug and fix ALL errors identified by these two code validators before submitting your assignments. Contact your instructor for assistance if you are having difficulty debugging and fixing your errors because it is imperative that your code files pass validation.** Remember that valid JavaScript relies on a foundation of valid HTML and valid CSS to function as intended.
**Submission Instructions:** Create a zip file containing all files related to your web page (.html files, .css files, .js files, image files, etc). Make sure you maintain the necessary directory structure in your zip file so that your webpages will access correctly when unzipped. In other words, if your images are in a sub-folder on your computer, in relation to the folder containing your .html file, then you need to maintain that same directory structure in your zip file, too. Submit only the zip file for grading.

    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

    ## **Instructions**
    **Week 4 Assignment: Interaction Models**
    ## **Purpose**
The purpose of this assignment is to continue our ITOT Case Study modeling by creating an SSD (System Sequence Diagram) and a Detailed Sequence Diagram.
You will add an SSD (System Sequence Diagram) and a Detailed Sequence Diagram based on your detailed use case for Manage Shopping Cart. You will also need to refer to your class diagram and activity diagram or detailed use case steps. This will complete the Analysis Specification for the IT Online Training Case Study. See the list of Resources at the end of this assignment for details on the two types of sequence diagrams and activity diagram.
    ## **Course Objective(s)**
**CO4**: Explain the software development process including system conception, domain analysis, and application analysis and their respective models.
**CO9**: Apply your knowledge of object oriented and UML concepts by designing and developing UML models.
**In this assignment, you will complete the following sections in your Analysis Specification**
    **Sections 6, 6.1, 6.2**
    ## **Instructions**
    1. Review the resources listed in the Quick Resources below on Sequence and Activity diagrams.
    2. **Create a UML compliant SSD (System Sequence Diagram)** based on your detailed use case, "Manage Shopping Cart". The SSD shows only two objects–the Actor and the System and the messages between them.
2.1 Use your CASE tool to create the UML compliant SSD and add it to **Section 6.1** of your Analysis Specification from Week 3. Also add a discussion of your SSD.
    3. **Create a UML compliant Detailed Sequence Diagram** based on your detailed use case, "Manage Shopping Cart". The Detailed Sequence Diagram shows Actors and all Objects involved in the detailed use case. Remember that Objects are instances of Classes.
3.1 Use your CASE tool to create the Detailed Sequence Diagram based on your detailed use case and add it to **Section 6.2** of your Analysis Specification from Week 3. Add a discussion of your Detailed Sequence Diagram. Remember that the Detailed Sequence Diagram adds the actual objects required to the sequence diagram instead of just :System.
    4. Complete **Section 6** of your Analysis Specification and make any corrections you need to other models.
    ## **Submission Instructions**
    1. Submit your updated Analysis Specification as a Word file.
    2. When you submit your Word file, use your name as part of the file name, e.g., ENTD278Assignment4_FirstNameLastName and make certain that your name and course number are at the top of the file.
Your assignment will be graded with the following rubric:
    1. Completion of a UML compliant System Sequence Diagram (SSD) and add it to Section 6.1 (40 points)
    2. KCompletion of the discussion of the SSD in Section 6.1 (5 points)
    3. Completion of a UML compliant Detailed Sequence Diagram for the use case ManageShopping Cart, showing all actors and objects, and add it to Section 6.2 (40 points.
    4. Completion of Section 6and other updates to other models (5 points)
    5. Sources/formatting: Use APA 7th edition style formatting and correct grammar (10 points)
    ## **Former Student Shared:**
"For students enrolling in this course for the first time, I would recommend supplementing the course materials with additional practice. Working on small coding exercises or projects related to the topics covered each week can deepen understanding. Additionally, engaging with online communities or forums can provide opportunities for discussion and collaboration."

Mr. Deliver believes the lack of concentration and poor communication with his wife led to the divorce, and Mr. Deliver worries that his trouble with organization and attention may affect his custody agreement and prevent him from keeping his job.
Mr. Deliver’s employer and his family and friends have suggested to him that he should get evaluated for ADHD, but he has resisted because of concerns about the stigma of a psychiatric diagnosis and the risks of taking a psychotropic medication.
Mr. Deliver is 5'11" and his weight is 165 lb.  He takes a men’s multivitamin daily, HCTZ at 25 mg for hypertension, fish oil 1,000 mg at bedtime for hyperlipidemia, and a rescue inhaler that he keeps with him although he hasn’t had to use it for many years.
    1. What SCREENING tools can be used to affirm your initial diagnosis that Mr. Deliver meets the criteria for ADHD?
    2. What SCREENING TOOLS can be used for a pediatric patient?
    3. Further assessment determines that Mr. Deliver does meet the criteria for ADHD, inattentive type.
    4. What is the current recommendation for pharmacological treatment for Mr. Deliver?
    5. What medication/dose would you recommend and why?
Assume that instead of Mr. Deliver being 36-years-old, Thomas is a 13-year-old male that also meets the diagnostic criteria for ADHD, hyperactive type (Thomas is not on any medications at this age).  How will your pharmacological treatment change?
Responses need to address all components of the question, demonstrate critical thinking and analysis and include peer-reviewed journal evidence to support the student’s position.
Please be sure to validate your opinions and ideas with in-text citations and corresponding references in APA format.
