    ## **Assignment Overview**

All system stakeholders need a plan to see where they fit in and how long they have to complete the task or tasks needed to successfully implement the system in production. Some tasks can be done independently but, in the end, are necessary, while others are dependent on another task getting done.

In this assignment, you will complete SDP Section 7, Project Plan.

    ## **Assignment Preparation**

For this assignment, use MS Project or another free Gantt chart creator, like this MS Excel Gantt chart template from Microsoft: [_Simple Gantt Chart_.](https://capella.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/leganto/public/01CAPELLA_INST/citation/3155345630006731?auth=SAML)

    – Save the Gantt chart as an embedded image (not the source tool as an object) in Section 7.1, Gantt Chart, of your [Software Development Plan (SDP) Template [DOCX]](https://courseroom.capella.edu/courses/68375/files/13491101?wrap=1 "cf_sdp_template.docx") [Download Software Development Plan (SDP) Template [DOCX]](https://courseroom.capella.edu/courses/68375/files/13491101/download?download_frd=1).

    – Plan End Date.
    – Actual Start Date.
    – Actual End Date.
    – Weekly dates for the columns.
    – Fill in the cells for each week.

Make sure you have dependent phases and that when one ends another starts. You may find it helpful to define all of the tasks and use AI to determine the approximate timing of each phase given your team.

Please do not have all stages start on the same time.

    – Estimate how long you think it will take.
    – Some stages, such as development, will take longer than others, such testing.

Refer to the Resources, Scheduling, Organization, and Staffing Rubric to ensure that you meet the grading criteria for this assignment.

    ## **Submission Requirements**

    – **Deliverables:** Submit the SDP with Section 7 completed.
    – **Writing:** Write with few spelling, grammatical, or mechanical errors.
    – **Document Format:** Follow APA style and formatting guidelines for resources and citations, if applicable. Refer to [Evidence and APA](https://lat.strategiced.com/redirect?linkid=1540) for guidance.

    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

    [>Java homework help](https://www.sweetstudy.com/fields/computer-science-java)

    ## **Overview**

This week you will continue working with your site's web form. You are going to add JavaScript that reads the data entered and displays it neatly formatted on the page.

    ## **Preparation**

    – On your desktop (or other location that you can find easily), create an empty folder named IT3240_Week_8. Copy your complete set of files from the Week 7 assignment to this new folder. Open the folder for Week 8 in Visual Studio Code.
    – Use the AI of your choice to research the use of the following JavaScript functions:

                      getElementById()

                      getElementsByName()

                      getElementsByTagName()

Focus on how to use them to read data entered by the user. You may ask the AI to show you examples, but you must write the code yourself (no copying and pasting or allowing the AI to write the code).

    ## **Add the JavaScript**

    1. Add a file named form.js to your website.
    2. Before the closing </body> tag in the contact.html file (the file with the form), add the <script></script> tags and then add the src attribute to point to the form.js file.
    3. Write a JavaScript function that reads the form's inputs (including the menu, checkboxes, and radio buttons) and then displays the information from the form in neatly organized format below the form when the user clicks the submit button. Again, you ask an AI for examples and explanations, but you need to write your own code.
    – Note: You may find it best to get the code written to read one of the inputs and display the value. As you get the code working to read that form input value and display it, move on to the next.
    4. Document important sections of the code with comments.
    5. Be sure to use console.log() to display relevant data in the developer tools console at key points in the script to help you confirm that the correct data is being read and written.
    6. Update your code so that clicking the submit button triggers the JavaScript function that you have written.

    ## **Verifying Your Work**

    1. Check your contact page in two browsers to make sure that the HTML and the JavaScript work as expected. In a Word document, state which browsers you tested the pages in.
    2. Go to the Nu HTML Checker tool [validator.nu](https://capella.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/leganto/public/01CAPELLA_INST/lists/5381565470006731?auth=SAML&section=5381567610006731) to verify the HTML for the revised contact page. When the page passes, get a screenshot of the successful validation and put it in the Word document.

    ## **Submission Requirements**

Add the Word document to the folder containing the complete set of files for your site.

    – Compress the folder and submit the zip file as an attachment to your submission.

    ## **Competencies Measured**

By successfully completing this assignment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and rubric criteria:

    – Competency 5: Create interactive web page behaviors using JavaScript.
    – Add JavaScript file and reference it from a <script> tag in the HTML form file.
    – Use appropriate JavaScript functions to read form input successfully.
    – Add an appropriate event handler for the submit button.
    – Use JavaScript to display the data entered in well formatted output on the page.

How Small Businesses Can Build a Stronger Online Presence

    =========================================================

Starting an online business can be exciting, but growing it successfully requires more than simply launching a website or listing products on a marketplace. As more businesses move online, entrepreneurs need to understand how visibility, customer experience, marketing, and brand building work together.

One area that has become especially important for online sellers is marketplace growth. Amazon, for example, offers businesses access to a huge customer base, but standing out among competing products can be challenging. Sellers need to think about product listings, keywords, advertising, branding, and the overall shopping experience.

For businesses interested in learning more about **[services offered by the growth agency](https://10xcommerceco.com/)**, exploring different eCommerce solutions can be a useful starting point. These services can include Amazon management, advertising, SEO, brand management, conversion optimization, and other strategies designed to support online business growth.

    Why Amazon Strategy Matters

    —————————

Launching a product on Amazon does not automatically guarantee sales. Customers need to discover the product, understand its benefits, trust the brand, and feel confident enough to make a purchase.

This is where professional guidance can become valuable. Businesses researching the **[best amazon consultants](https://10xcommerceco.com/amazon-agency-services/)** can look for specialists who understand marketplace optimization, advertising, product positioning, and long-term brand development.

Building Skills for the Digital Economy

    —————————————

Just as studying abroad gives students the opportunity to experience new cultures and develop practical skills, building an online business can provide entrepreneurs with valuable experience in marketing, communication, customer research, and digital strategy.

The most successful approach is often to keep learning, test different strategies, understand customer behavior, and make improvements based on real results.

Whether you're an entrepreneur starting your first online store or an established seller looking to expand, developing a clear eCommerce strategy can help turn an idea into a stronger and more sustainable digital business.

    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

There is a specific kind of silence that falls over a room when someone is deep into a run in [Geometry Dash](https://geometrydash-pc.com/). It is not the silence of boredom or disinterest, but rather the heavy, focused quiet of total absorption. Your eyes lock onto a neon horizon, your finger hovers over a single key or mouse button, and the rest of the world simply ceases to exist. For a game built on such a deceptively simple premise—tap to jump, avoid obstacles, reach the end—it manages to create an experience that is as emotionally complex as it is mechanically pure. If you have ever wondered what makes this rhythm-based platformer so enduringly compelling, or if you are standing at the edge of its colorful abyss wondering how to begin, this guide is for you.

    ## **Understanding the Rhythm of Failure**

At first glance, Geometry Dash looks like a relic of early mobile gaming. You control a small square icon that auto-scrolls from left to right. The only input is a tap, click, or spacebar press to make your character jump. That is the entire mechanical vocabulary. Yet within this single verb lies a universe of expression.

The genius of the game is not in complexity but in synchronization. Every level is choreographed to its soundtrack with obsessive precision. The spikes, platforms, gravity portals, and speed pads are not placed randomly; they are musical notes made physical. When you play well, you are not just navigating obstacles—you are performing the song. The jump lands exactly on the snare hit. The gravity flip aligns with the bass drop. This marriage of audio and visual feedback creates a flow state that few other games can replicate.

Of course, you will die. Frequently. Instantly. Without mercy. There are no checkpoints in official levels, no health bars, no second chances mid-run. When you crash into a spike at 98% completion, the level restarts from zero. This brutality is not punishment; it is pedagogy. Each failure teaches you the exact timing needed for the next attempt. The game does not ask you to memorize patterns in the abstract—it asks you to internalize them through repetition until they become muscle memory. Over time, what once felt impossible begins to feel inevitable.

For those exploring the game for the first time or returning after a break, sites like [Geometry Dash](https://geometrydash-pc.com/) offer a helpful starting point for understanding the current landscape of levels, community creations, and version differences. The ecosystem around the game has grown enormously since its original release, and knowing where to look can save hours of confusion.

    ## **Assignment Overview**

Once a software development plan is completed at your company, it is also important to have a plan in place to have the system verified and validated, to assure it is the right system and that it is developed correctly. The SDP needs to spell out how independent verification and validation should be conducted.

Software is rarely completely done at the end of a project. There may be bugs uncovered or additional criteria that must be implemented. Planning out a process for the maintenance of the software is crucial. A large part of the software maintenance is to preserve its integrity as changes are made. Any changes should be logged and tracked. You must also put criteria in place when certain software needs to be retired or migrated.

In this assignment you will complete SDP Section 8, Validation and Verification.

    ## **Assignment Instructions**

Use the [Software Development Plan (SDP) Template [DOCX]](https://courseroom.capella.edu/courses/68375/files/13491101?wrap=1 "cf_sdp_template.docx") [Download Software Development Plan (SDP) Template [DOCX]](https://courseroom.capella.edu/courses/68375/files/13491101/download?download_frd=1) to update Section 8, Verification and Validation.

Consider your companies scenario and address the items below in Section 8:

    – Define the types of testing and how they will be tested. Use AI to help determine if your selected types of testing makes sense for your organization before continuing.
    – Create an effective plan for the independent verification and validation of software based upon your chosen Agile methodology per SWEBOK standards (SDP, Section 8). It should be one page or less.
    – Create a sign-off memo for stakeholders to agree with the findings. (At least four stakeholders should be listed in order of importance. One should be the project manager.)

Refer to the Verification and Validation Rubric to ensure that you meet the grading criteria for this assignment.

    ## **Submission Requirements**

    – **Deliverables:** Submit the SDP with Section 8 completed.

    ## **Competencies Measured**

By successfully completing this assignment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and rubric criteria:

    – Competency 3: Evaluate user interface designs for usability and effective interaction across many demographics including culture, gender, and age.
    – Define the types of testing and how they will be tested.

    [>Java homework help](https://www.sweetstudy.com/fields/computer-science-java)

    ## **Overview**

This Week 9 assignment introduces you to form validation using HTML tag attributes and JavaScript.

The focus this week is on adding validation to the web form you created in Week 07. You will use HTML5 validation attributes along with JavaScript to check form input and provide feedback to the user.

    ## **Preparation**

    – On your desktop (or other location that you can find easily), create an empty folder named IT3240_Week_9. Copy your files from the Week 07 assignment (including images, the CSS file, and your form page). Open this folder in Visual Studio Code.
    – Create a new JavaScript file named validation.js and link it to your contact page using a <script> tag placed before the closing </body> tag.
    – Using the AI chatbot of your choice, investigate the use of the following HTML tag attributes for form inputs: required, minlength, maxlength, and pattern.

    ## **HTML5 Validation Attributes**

    1. Add appropriate HTML5 validation attributes to your form fields:
    – required – Add this attribute to at least 3 fields that must be completed before submission.
    – minlength and maxlength – Use either or both of these attributes on at least 1 text input field to enforce minimum and maximum character limits where appropriate.
    – pattern – Use a regular expression pattern on at least 1 input field to validate specific formats (e.g., phone numbers, zip codes, or other formatted data relevant to your form).
    2. Consider using appropriate type attributes (such as email, tel, url, or number) to leverage built-in browser validation where applicable.
    3. Add appropriate elements such as <div> or <span> to display error messages for the user. Consider creating a dedicated area on the page for validation messages or displaying messages near the relevant form fields.

    ## **JavaScript Validation**

    1. Consult your preferred AI to research how the JavaScript preventDefault() function is used to block the default form submission behavior and carry out validation using the checkValidity() and setCustomValidity() functions.
    2. In your validation.js file, write JavaScript code following these steps:
    1. Get a reference to the form element. Use document.getElementById() to select your form by its id ("webForm") and store it in a variable.
    2. Get references to your form input elements. Use document.getElementById() to select each input field you want to validate and store each in its own variable.
    3. Get references to your message display elements. Use document.getElementById() to select the <div> or <span> elements you created to display error and success messages.
    4. Create a validation function. Write a function (e.g., function validateForm(event)) that will contain all your validation logic. The event parameter will be used to prevent form submission.
    5. Prevent default form submission. At the beginning of your validation function, call event.preventDefault() to stop the form from submitting so your validation code can run first.
    6. Create a variable to track overall validity. Initialize a boolean variable (e.g., let isValid = true) that you will set to false if any field fails validation.
    3. Clear previous error messages. Before checking validity, clear any existing error messages by setting the textContent or innerHTML of your message elements to an empty string.
    4. Check each field's validity. For each input field, use the checkValidity() method to test if the field passes its HTML5 validation constraints. This method returns true if valid or false if invalid.
    5. Display specific error messages. Use if statements to check each field. When a field fails validation, display an appropriate error message in the corresponding message element and set your isValid variable to false.
    6. Display overall result. After checking all fields, use an if/else statement to check your isValid variable. If true, display a success message (e.g., "Form submitted successfully!"). If false, display an overall error message (e.g., "Please correct the errors above.").
    7. Attach the event listener. Outside your function, use addEventListener() to connect your validation function to the form's "submit" event. For example: form.addEventListener("submit", validateForm).
    8. Use CSS to style your validation messages appropriately (e.g., error messages in red, success messages in green).

    ## **Testing Your Work**

    1. Test your form validation thoroughly:
    – Submit the form with empty required fields.
    – Enter data that violates minlength/maxlength constraints.
    – Enter data that does not match required patterns.
    – Submit a completely valid form and verify the success message appears.
    2. Check your updated contact page in 2 browsers. In a Word document, state which browsers you tested the pages in.
    3. As with previous assignments, feel free to use your favorite AI (in chat mode) to help resolve issues in the code. Just remember that the code needs to be yours, not the AI's.

    ## **Validation**

    1. Go to the Nu HTML Checker tool at [validator.nu](https://capella.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/leganto/public/01CAPELLA_INST/lists/5381565470006731?auth=SAML&section=5381567610006731) to verify the HTML for the revised contact page. When the page passes, get a screenshot of the successful validation and put it in the Word document.
    2. Validate the updated CSS file using the service at [CSS Validation Service](https://capella.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/leganto/public/01CAPELLA_INST/citation/5381591580006731?auth=SAML). When the CSS passes the check, get a screenshot of the successful validation and put it in the Word document.

    ## **Submission Requirements**

Add the Word document to the folder containing the complete set of .html files, the .css file, the .js file, and the image files used for your site.

    – Compress the folder and submit the zip file as an attachment to your submission.

    ## **Competencies Measured**

By successfully completing this assignment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and rubric criteria:

    – Competency 1: Author well-structured, standards-compliant HTML.
    – Add HTML5 validation attributes.
    – Competency 5: Create interactive web page behaviors using JavaScript.
    – Implement JavaScript validation code in an external JavaScript file to validate form input as specified.
    – Set up the event handling for the submit button so that the validation process is triggered.
    – Display appropriate messages to the user about the validity of the inputs and the overall form.
    – Test the page in 2 browsers to confirm that the code works correctly.

    DOS BASICS

In the “Good Old Days,” when we opened our computers, there was no welcoming screen—what

we know as the Graphical User Interface (GUI—produced gooey). Instead, we were put into the

operating system interface that looked like this.

It is valuable to our understanding of computers to sometimes step back in time and do the things

we commonly do in the GUIs of today in the command line of yesterday. This lab is built to give

you an understanding of how to perform some common GUI tasks in the command line. You

may even be surprised to see how the command line (or DOS) reveals more information than the

    GUIs display.

    1. DATE/TIME STAMPING

For your first exercise, you will learn how to put a Date/Time Stamp on your page. This is only

first because every screenshot you complete during this lab will require a data/time stamp.

At the command line prompt, type the following:

    Time /t

    Date /t

    Paste your Screen shot here:

Question 1: What was the function of the /t switch in the command extension?

Question 2: How were you able to determine the function of the /t switch in the command

    extension

    2. COMMAND LINE HELP-1

In the answer to question 2 above there is no wrong way to get the right answer (other than to say

that you just guessed). But DOS does provide a very easy method. It is the embedded help

    command.

At the command line prompt, type the following:

    Help

    Time /t

    Date /t

    Paste your Screen shot here:

Question 3: What does the Color command do?

Question 4: What does the DIR command do?

    3. COMMAND LINE HELP-2

To find out the syntax of a command, you can type Help followed by the command you want.

To demonstrate, let’s use the DIR command from Question 4.

At the command line prompt, type the following:

    Help DIR

    Time /t

    Date /t

    Paste your Screen shot here:

Question 5: What does the /w function do?

Question 6: Try the DIR then the DIR /Q? What is the difference in the two outputs?

    4. IPCONFIG

Knowing your basic IP information can be very helpful at times. You can see this on your

computer by looking up the configuration.

At the command line prompt type the following:

    ipconfig

    Time /t

    Date /t

    Paste your Screen shot here:

    5. PING

Ping is a command that tells you if a host is reachable. It sends a packet and awaits for the reply,

then tell you how long it takes. This allows you to diagnose latency or packet lost issues.

At the command line prompt, type the following:

Ping (insert your default gateway IP here)

    Ping google.com

    Time /t

    Date /t

    Paste your Screen shot here:

Question 9: What were the time statistics (fill in the table)?

    Destination Maximum Minimum Average

    Default Gateway

    Google

Question 10: Why did Google take longer than your default gateway?

    6. TRACE ROUTE

While Ping gives you the traffic statistics, Trace Route will take you through the entire path to

    the destination.

At the command line prompt, type the following:

    Tracert google.com

Tracert google.com (yes you need to complete 2 trace routes)

    Time /t

    7. DIRECTORY TASK-1

All the director commands are now completed in the GUIs. But they all have their foundations in

the DOS. For this task, we will look at moving between directories. In the GUIs, it is point-and-

click. first, you look at the GUI version of the directory tree and click on the folder. Let’s first

look at the directory tree in DOS.

At the command line prompt, type the following:

Tree (wait for it to end—it will be longer than you are used to seeing)

    Time /t

    Date /t

    Paste your Screen shot here:

Question 13: What did you notice about the tree structure in DOS?

Question 14: What can you appreciate about the GUI after seeing this?

    CSIS 110

    8. DIRECTORY TASK-2

Making a director in GUI is a task of selecting the folder and clicking on Add Folder. In DOS

you need to move to the correct directory, then use the make directory command.

At the command line prompt, type the following:

    DIR /w

    MD ABC-test

    DIR /w

    Time /t

    Date /t

    Paste your Screen shot here:

Question 15: Did you see your new directory on the second DIR?

Question 16: Why or why not?

    CSIS 110

    9. DIRECTORY TASK-3

Switching between directories is a simple task GUI it is not too much different in DOS if you

know the commands with the exception of not being able to point and click of course.

At the command line prompt, type the following:

    CD ABC-Test

    DIR /w

    Time /t

    Date /t

    Paste your Screen shot here:

Question 17: How many files do you see in the new drive?

Question 18: How is the prompt different after the change?

    CSIS 110

    10. DIRECTORY TASK-4

Often, we need to remove directories as well. To do this, we use the remove directory command.

Always be very careful as removing or deleting is permanent in DOS. Also, keep in mind that

you cannot delete the directory if you are in it so you must change your directory before deleting.

Try using CD .. that will back up out one level in the directory tree.

For this lab we are not going to have you remove the test folder. If you would like to do this on

your own, you can by going to the Windows Explorer and removing the folder.

Question 19: In brief words, what have you learned from this lab?
