    By using the information that I have learned from this class, I expect my specific phishing attempt to be successful because I have chosen to target pet owners. It’s a known fact that pet owner’s love their pets like their children. They would not want their pet to be without pet insurance. I love my 4-legged babies and care for them in the best way possible. For this reason, I believe the pet owner’s that don’t notice the spelling errors will click my link and update their credit card information.

    In order to avoid falling prey to phishing attempts I will educate myself first about phishing scams. I will learn as much as I can about what phishing scams are and how they work. I will check the sender’s email address and look closely for misspellings or irregular domain names. Checking for misspelled words and unusual language. Before clicking on any links in the email, I will hover my mouse cursor over them to preview the actual URL. To make sure it matches the official website which it is coming from.

    I know that most companies won’t ask me to provide sensitive information via email. If directed to a website, I will ensure it is secure by looking for "https://" in the URL and a padlock symbol in the browser's address bar. I will enable 2FA to add an extra layer of security to your online accounts and makes it more difficult for phishers to gain access. Installing an antivirus and anti-phishing software on my devices will help detect and block phishing attempts. I will try to keep myself up to date with the latest phishing tactics and stay informed about current phishing campaigns and scams.

    If I came across a phishing email I would avoid interacting with the email's content. I wouldn’t click on any links or download any attachments. I would report phishing emails to my email provider to help prevent others from falling victim to the same scam. Then I would move the phishing email to my spam or trash folder and permanently delete it. I would also contact the company the email claims to be from and inform them about the phishing attempt I just received. I would also tell my co-workers, family and friends my experience and knowledge about phishing attempts to help them avoid falling victim to similar scams.

    Specific clues and telltale signs that help me identify whether an email is a phishing attempt are common characteristics that can raise suspicion. I would look at the type of greeting as these types of emails often use "Dear User" or "Dear Customer" instead of my name. Phishing emails often create a sense of urgency or use threatening language to pressure me into taking immediate action. Look for spelling errors these companies normally proofread their communications prior to sending them out to their customers. Confirm the email addresses it will look similar to real ones but contain slight misspellings or unusual domain names.

    If I were to receive an email from a company that I didn't expect to hear from or you haven't done business is very alarming. If an email offers me something that seems too good to be true, like winning a lottery or getting a large sum of money for no apparent reason, it's likely a phishing scam. These phishing emails may include logos and graphics that appear legitimate but are actually copied or spoofed. Another clue would be the email is being sent to a large number of recipients.

    I feel that the elderly are most likely to fall prey to these phishing attempts because they are less educated and less experienced with technology. They also lack awareness and might even be gullible to this type of emails. The urgency of the subjects would make them click on the provided links in order to make the issues cleared. I think that fear or anxiety, would be able to manipulate them making them much more vulnerable than other individuals. Also, these emails may promise money that all they need is to click the link and curiosity may get the best of them. They elderly don't have strong email security practices either. This reason to make the eldery the primary target to these individuals.

    In this project, you will create a Node.js application that interacts with a MySQL database. You'll practice executing various types of queries, such as INSERT, SELECT, UPDATE, and DELETE, to manage employee records in the database.

    **Instructions:**

    **Setup:**

    Make sure you have Node.js and MySQL installed on your system. Create a new folder for your project and navigate to it using the command line.

    **Database Setup:**

    Create a new MySQL database named "employee_db" or a name of your choice. Create a table named "employees" with columns "id" (INT), "name" (VARCHAR), and "job_title" (VARCHAR).

    **Node.js Application:**

    Inside your project folder, create a new file named "app.js".

    **Connect to the Database:**

    Require the mysql npm package and create a connection to the MySQL database using your database credentials.

    **INSERT Statement:**

    Write a function to insert a new employee record into the "employees" table. Use the connection.query() method to execute an INSERT query.

    **SELECT Statement:**

    Write a function to retrieve the names of all employees from the "employees" table. Use the connection.query() method to execute a SELECT query.

    **UPDATE Statement:**

    Write a function to update the job title of an employee. Use the connection.query() method to execute an UPDATE query.

    **DELETE Statement:**

    Write a function to delete an employee record from the "employees" table. Use the connection.query() method to execute a DELETE query.

    **Execution:**

    Run your Node.js application using the command node app.js. Check the console output for the results of each query.

    **Example Code Snippets:**

    Here's an example of how your "app.js" file could be structured:

    const mysql = require('mysql');

    const connection = mysql.createConnection({
    host: "localhost",
    user: "yourusername",
    password: "yourpassword",
    database: "employee_db"
    });

    connection.connect(function(err) {
    if (err) throw err;
    console.log("Connected to MySQL server!");

    // Write your INSERT, SELECT, UPDATE, and DELETE functions here

    // Close the connection
    connection.end(function(err) {
    if (err) throw err;
    console.log("Connection closed");
    });
    });

    Note: Replace 'yourusername' and 'yourpassword' with your actual MySQL credentials.

    **Submission Instructions**

    1. Place all of your files for this project in a folder labeled "Lesson 10." In the file names, be sure to replace MEID with your actual MEID.

    ## **Instructions**

    For this assignment, the Caduceus CTO, Eliza, has asked you to create a working proof of concept.

    **Step 1: Access Your AWS Academy Learner Lab Virtual Environment**

    CMIT 495 requires you to complete hands-on assignments in a virtual environment. We will be using Amazon Web Services (AWS) for this. Accessing the link through your LEO classroom will automatically add you to an AWS Academy Learner Lab.

    Review the following AWS Academy Student Guide found in the AWS Academy Learner module.

    _**Note**_ _: The_ [_AWS Academy Student Guide_](https://learn.umgc.edu/d2l/common/dialogs/quickLink/quickLink.d2l?ou=1247086&type=lti&rcode=UMUC-9389772&srcou=1300302) _provides students with instructions for using AWS Academy Learner Labs. The Learner Lab offers a lab environment suitable for student projects over a period designated by the department._

    **Step 2: Download the Week 1 Project Template**

    Download the template you will use to submit your project: [Project 1 Virtualization Assignment Template](https://learn.umgc.edu/d2l/common/dialogs/quickLink/quickLink.d2l?ou=1247086&type=coursefile&fileId=Project+1+Virtualization+Assignment+Template+(2252).docx)

    **Step 3: Install and Configure an AWS EC2 Instance (Virtual Machine)**

    Using your AWS Learner Lab Virtual Environment, install and configure an Ubuntu Server virtual machine (VM) using the most recent version of the 64-bit operating system.

    You will need to provide a detailed overview of the steps required to install the Ubuntu server operating system on the virtual machine, including screenshots of each step in the process in the Week 1 Assignment Template.

    Review the following documentation detailing an overview and step-by-step procedure on how to install and configure an AWS EC2 instance.
