The value of a common stock is based on the present value of the future cash flows that will accrue to that stock. Of course, the present value calculation necessarily involves the use of a required rate of return (a discount rate), which reflects the risk. The textbook indicates that “To some extent, the two concepts of P/E ratios and dividend valuation models can be brought together. A stock that has a high required rate of return ( _Ke_) because it is risky will generally have a low P/E ratio. Similarly, a stock with a low required rate of return ( _Ke)_ because of the predictability of positive future performance will normally have a high P/E ratio” (Block et al, p. 322). In this discussion, you will examine the relationship between a stock’s required rate of return and its P/E ratio.
    **Initial Response:**
    For this discussion forum,
    – Select a publicly traded company that pays dividends. You may select any publicly traded company that pays dividends, or choose one of the companies discussed in [_Best Dividend Stocks for Dependable Dividend Growth_](https://www.kiplinger.com/investing/stocks/dividend-stocks/best-dividend-stocks-you-can-count-on#skip-to-div-kke9azhn)_._
    – Determine the most recent stock price and the total dividends paid over the past year.
    – Calculate the current dividend yield on the stock.
    – Calculate the required rate of return ( _Ke_) for an investment in the common stock. You should use formula 10-9 in the textbook (SEE PICS) for this calculation and use an assumed growth rate of 5 percent.
    – Identify the current P/E ratio for the company from a source such as _Yahoo! Finance_ or _Barron’s_.
    In your post,
    – Show your calculations of the dividend yield and required rate of return ( _Ke_) and present the P/E ratio.
    – Explain the relationship between your chosen company’s _Ke_ and P/E ratio and what that relationship indicates about the risk of the company’s future cash flows.
    – Explain whether the general relationship between a high _Ke_ and a low P/E ratio (or low _Ke_ and high P/E ratio) is supported by the data for your chosen publicly traded company.
    – Predict the impact on the company’s stock price based on your forecast that the company will grow its dividends by a rate higher than 5%.
    – Compare your company’s P/E ratio with the P/E ratios of two other companies in its industry.
    – Hypothesize which company in this industry should have the lowest _Ke_ based on the P/E comparisons.
    – Summarize the connection between a company’s growth rate, its required rate of return, and its value (stock price).
Be sure to think strategically and apply the concepts from the course textbook.
Your initial response should be a minimum of 200 words. 2 credible resources
    2.
For this discussion forum, you will provide a real-world example of how capital allocation was successfully (or unsuccessfully) applied. In your response, please address the following:
    – First, use the Library to research an article on capital allocation; many articles are available in the library.
    – Then, select and review the article.
    – Then, summarize the article and provide a connection between the article’s concepts and readings for the week. Do any of the concepts in your article agree or disagree with the text?
    – Finally, based on the findings in your article, explain how the Weighted Average of Cost Capital (WACC) influences investment decisions.
Your initial response should be a minimum of 200 words. 2 credible resources

    Four Spheres of Care Activity

    Wellness and Disease Prevention:

Reflect on the health promotion disease prevention interventions you
witnessed in your practicum site, as it relates to the social determinants of
health most prevalent in your community. What did you see? What does
this time mean to you as a professional nurse in your role?

During my practicum hours , I observed several health promotion and disease
prevention interventions that addressed social determinants of health in our
community. For example, the nurses provided education on healthy nutrition and
physical activity in low-income neighborhoods and coordinated vaccination
clinics for underserved populations. I also saw the efforts to connect patients
with community resources for housing and food insecurity. This experience
reinforced the importance of considering social, economic, and environmental
factors when promoting health. As a professional and dedicated nurse, it
reminds me that advocacy and education are vital and important tools in
empowering patients and reducing health disparities.

    Chronic Disease Management:

Reflect on the integration of interprofessional team-based care as it
relates to chronic disease management in your practicum site this week.
What did you see? What does this time mean to you as a professional
    nurse in your role?

This week, I observed the integration of interprofessional team-based care in
managing chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension. Nurses collaborated
with physicians, dietitians, and pharmacists to develop individualized care plans,
monitor lab results, and provide ongoing patient education. I saw how effective

communication and coordinated efforts between the nurses, doctors, and other
staff members improve patient adherence and outcomes. As a professional
nurse, this experience highlights my role in facilitating collaboration, monitoring
progress, and serving as a patient advocate. Being part of a team ensures
holistic care, addresses multiple aspects of chronic illness, and strengthens my
    understanding of comprehensive care management.

    Regenerative and Restorative Care:

Reflect on the acute management of illnesses such as stroke, mental
illness, and falls in your practicum site this week. What did you see? What
does this time mean to you as a professional nurse in your role?

During my practicum hours this week, I observed acute management of
illnesses such as stroke, hypertension, mental health crises, and falls. Nurses
quickly assessed patient conditions, implemented emergency interventions, and
coordinated with physicians and rehabilitation teams for ongoing care. For
patients with mental illness, I saw de-escalation techniques and therapeutic
communication used to ensure their safety. Witnessing these interventions
underscored the critical role of timely assessment, intervention, and
interdisciplinary collaboration. As a professional nurse, this experience
reinforces the importance of vigilance, critical thinking, and patient advocacy in
acute care settings. It also strengthens my confidence in responding to high-risk
    situations.

    Hospice and Palliative Care:

Reflect on end-of-life nursing and advanced illness and hospice care in
your practicum site this week. What did you see? What does this time
mean to you as a professional nurse in your role?

This week in my practicum hours , I observed end-of-life care and support for
patients with advanced illnesses. Nurses provided compassionate care,
focusing on pain management, emotional support, and dignity in the dying
process. I witnessed the importance of communication with patients and
families, helping them navigate difficult decisions while respecting their wishes.
This experience emphasized holistic care, including physical, emotional, and
spiritual needs. As a professional nurse, it reminds me that my role extends
beyond physical care to providing comfort, advocacy, and support. It has
strengthened my understanding of the value of empathy, presence, and ethical
    decision-making in nursing practice.

Completing this assessment will strengthen your understanding of ethical issues and policies related to the coordination and continuum of care and empower you to be a stronger advocate and nursing professional.

    **Instructions**

    **Presentation Overview**

Develop a 10–12 slide power point presentation

    · The presentation should be 10 minutes in length.

    · Create a detailed narrative script for your presentation.

    · The script should be 3–4 pages in length.

    · This script will be submitted to Turnitin.

    In your presentation:

    · Explain how governmental policies related to the health and/or safety of the community affect the coordination of care as it relates to your practicum.

    · Provide examples of a specific policy affecting your practicum site.

    · Explain how national, state, and local policy provisions raise ethical questions or dilemmas for care coordination.

    · What are the implications and consequences of specific policy provisions on your practicum site? Consider the impacts at the national, state, and local levels.

    · What evidence do you have to support your conclusions?

    · Assess the impact of the code of ethics for nurses on the coordination and continuum of care. Consider the factors that contribute to health, health disparities, and access to services specific to your patient population.

    · Include any evidence you have to support your conclusions.

    · Communicate key ethical and policy issues affecting the coordination and continuum of care for your practicum site. Make sure both narrative script and audio voice-over are included with your presentation.

Check that your audio speaker and PowerPoint software are working properly.

**Important**: Record your narrated presentation in Kaltura. (Do not record and submit the voice-over in PowerPoint because your file will become too large to upload.) Refer to the

    · References (at the end of your presentation).

Your slide deck should consist of 10–12 slides,
**not including** a title and references slide. Your presentation should not exceed 10 minutes.

Completing this assessment will strengthen your understanding of ethical issues and policies related to the coordination and continuum of care and empower you to be a stronger advocate and nursing professional.

    **Professional Context**

As coordinators of care, nurses must be aware of the code of ethics for nurses and health policy issues that affect the coordination of care within the context of the community. To help patients navigate the continuum of care, nurses must be proficient at interpreting and applying the code of ethics and health policy, specifically, the ACA. Being knowledgeable about ethical and policy issues helps ensure that care coordinators are upholding ethical standards and navigating policy issues that affect patient care.

    **Preparation**

    · Present a concise overview.

    · Support your main points and conclusions with relevant and credible evidence.

The requirements outlined above correspond to the grading criteria in the Ethical and Policy Factors in Care Coordination scoring guide, so be sure to address each point. Read the performance-level descriptions for each criterion to see how your work will be assessed.

    **Presentation Format and Length**

You may use Microsoft PowerPoint or other suitable presentation software to create your slides and add your voice-over.

Check that your audio speaker and PowerPoint software are working properly.

**Important**: Record your narrated presentation in Kaltura. (Do not record and submit the voice-over in PowerPoint because your file will become too large to upload.) Refer to the
[Using Kaltura](https://lat.strategiced.com/redirect?linkid=4533) Campus resource for more information about this courseroom tool.

If you elect to use an application other than PowerPoint, check with your faculty.

Be sure that your slide deck includes the following slides:

    · Title slide.

    · Presentation title.

    · Your name.

    · Date.

    · Course number and title.

    · References (at the end of your presentation).

Your slide deck should consist of 10–12 slides,
**not including** a title and references slide. Your presentation should not exceed 10 minutes.

Create a detailed narrative script for your presentation in APA format with proper citation of supporting evidence. This would be the script of what you would say in an actual presentation. You do not need to present to your site but you may want to share it with your preceptor.

    **Supporting Evidence**

Cite 4–5 credible sources from peer-reviewed journals or professional industry publications to support your presentation. Include your source citations on a references page appended to your narrative script.
