If you were to give a box of 100 different photographs to 10 people and ask them to sort them
into groups, it is very unlikely that all 10 people would sort them into the exact same groups.
However, if you were to give them a series of questions or a classification system to use, the
chances that all 10 people sort them exactly the same would increase.

This is not unlike the process of classifying mental disorders. Mental health professionals in the
United States (e.g., doctors, psychologists) who assess and diagnose mental disorders use the

classification system provided in a book called the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental
Disorders, Text Revision (5th ed.), usually abbreviated as the DSM-5-TR. This system attempts to
provide enough specificity to appropriately classify a large variety of mental disorders while also
attempting to include all possible symptoms. This is a daunting task because symptoms can
change over time or vary between cultures.

As you are now aware, different cultural contexts result in varied constructs in terms of how we
think about concepts like intelligence, emotions, and social behavior. Different cultures may
understand and relate to psychological disorders such as anxiety, schizophrenia, and substance
abuse differently as well. There are also some syndromes, such as mal de ojo (“evil eye”) and
hikikomori (“protracted and severe social withdrawal”), that are found only in specific cultures.
There is no one-to-one correspondence between a cultural syndrome and a DSM diagnosis.
However, a psychologist would need to utilize a respected diagnostic tool like the DSM as a
starting point in determining the most appropriate treatment for a suffering person. The
challenge is to connect the DSM system, which allows mental health professionals all over the
world to communicate effectively, with different cultural perspectives. It is not an easy task!

Your Discussion this week is an opportunity to think like a mental health professional while
applying what you have learned about cross-cultural psychology. For this Discussion, you will
explore different cultural syndromes and analyze the application of DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria
to them. You will be asked to reflect critically on how cultural syndromes compare with western
disorders and their usefulness in therapeutic settings.

Review this week’s Learning Resources and specifically pay attention to the Writing Center
Resources that will guide you as you use evidence to support your post and response to this

What are the key overlaps you see when examining descriptions of cultural syndromes?

    Post the following:

Select a cultural syndrome and post the following:

Describe the primary feature of this cultural syndrome.

Describe at least two related Western disorders and their prominent symptoms.
Explain two key overlapping features you see when examining descriptions of cultural syndromes.
Explain how having an understanding of cultural syndromes can be used in therapeutic settings.

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, or DSM, is the primary diagnostic
resource used by health professionals to evaluate, diagnose, and treat psychological disorders.
The following two sections from the book include discussions of how to integrate culture and
social context into mental health diagnoses. This includes how individuals from different cultures
express illness and distress and examples of cultural syndromes that overlap with DSM disorders.
In addition, explore other sections of the DSM-5 TR to familiarize yourself with the various
psychological disorders and their diagnostic criteria.

Project management tools are a necessity for startup businesses in order to organize workflow, enable collaboration, and automate repetitive tasks (Smith, 2024). I researched several tools and discovered that three tools are suitable for them: Trello, Asana, and ClickUp. Trello has a visually appealing board organization for task management, so it would be most suitable for startups that require an easy-to-use, adaptive tool. Asana, by contrast, offers in-depth task monitoring and workflow automation, and therefore is ideal for teams that are engaged in complicated projects. ClickUp, my personal favorite, integrates task management, document collaboration, goal setting, and AI-powered automation, rendering it a one-stop-shop for startups that are in pursuit of scalability and productivity (ClickUp, n.d.). Though all three are helpful, ClickUp's adaptability and integratability make it a superior choice for companies looking for an all-in-one project management system.

The HR department needs project management software to plan employee schedules, training, performance tracking, and onboarding processes. With the centralized system, there is orderly communication and HR process efficiency. Any other essential departments like IT, operations, and finance must be given access also. IT departments can track software integration and security, operations can monitor workflow productivity, and finance can see budgeting and resource allocation. Having project management software run across the different departments allows for enhanced collaboration, visibility, and overall business growth.

Through researching the best project management software for startups in 2024, I found my top three options: monday.com, Trello, and Basecamp. What really makes monday.com stand out, though, is the ease of use with smart Slack and Google Drive integration, and lots of flexibility for a small team.

Among these, Trello is more suitable to a startup that may look for a simple and visually friendly way to manage boards, whereas Basecamp provides an uncluttered interface with fantastic collaboration features, making it ideal for communication-oriented teams (Cloudwards, 2024). Among the three, my ranking would be monday.com first based on its feature set and scalability, followed by Trello because of visual appeal and how easy to use, and then Basecamp last because of no further project management features. Access to project management software will enable HR teams to work together in the management of recruitment pipelines, onboarding, tracking employee performance, and employee development. Tools such as monday.com, Trello, or Basecamp allow centralization of such tasks; hence, they add better coordination among departments (The Digital Project Manager, 2024). Other departments such as Operations, Sales, and even Marketing should have access to the software to further promote collaboration, more with the emphasis on tracking project deliverables and conducting activity. Shared access encourages transparency, efficiency, and communication discontinuity among departments (Mad Lemmings, 2024).

    [>Economics homework help](https://www.sweetstudy.com/fields/business-finance-economics)

Submit a Word document formatted in APA style complete with cover and reference pages.  The reference page must have at least one entry:  the textbook.

The submission must be a form Research Report with the following parts:

    1. **Background information about the case:**  The section must provide information about the people, places, operations, business, etc. and the research question or practical business challenges for which the current research will be used to provide a solution .  This section need not be long; up to two well written paragraphs are usually sufficient.
    2. **Descriptive Statistics and Data illustration:**  In this section, the submission must summarize how the data was obtained (see chapter 1 of the text). Graphs and charts illustrating the main features of the data are also required – please see chapter 2 of the textbook.   Finally, a table of descriptive statistics accompanied by  description and explanations of the main features of the data are also required.
    3. **Statistical Method:** This part of the submission must explain the main statistical method(s) used in the case.   What is the theory behind it? What are the working hypotheses (null and alternative, etc.), what main measures, statistics, or parameters etc.,  are to be estimated or calculated using the method; how does it measures or calculates these measures, statistics, or parameters?  Finally, this section must describe how the results of the statistical method are interpreted. That is, what is it about the results that would indicate that the working hypotheses or research questions are confirmed or rejected or perhaps need to be modified and tested again?
    4. **Results:**  The actual results of the statistical method applied to the data are now presented in this section.  The section requires the student to describe the results and their theoretical interpretation based on the description of the method described in the previous section.
    5. **Conclusion and Recommendation:**  This section restates the statistical results and applies it to the business situation in the case.  It also makes practical recommendations about what steps the business in the case can take going forward based on the results of the statistical analysis.  The application and recommendation can take one or more of these general forms.

    1. The statistical results of the data analysis provided an answer(s) to the issues that the business is facing.  As a result specific policies or practical steps can be implemented in the business.
    2.  The statistical results of the data analysis provided only partial answers.  More research and tests need to be done to come up with a more useful answers for the business situation.
    3. The statistical results did not provide any useful information for the challenges that a business(s) is facing.  Recommendations for conducting new research with new approaches, data, variables, etc. may be required.
    4. Note:  there is always room for 'further research' since it is impossible for a single research case to answer every possible question.

    Note

    1. The textbook provides narratives, questions, or actual steps/questions for each case study.  While these are useful for conducting actual research, the submission must take the form of a research report and follow the above pattern.
    2. Consistent with the emphasis of this course on interpretation, an [edited version of the answer key for the case study has been provided here](https://swu.instructure.com/courses/4178430/files/317247451?wrap=1 "Case 15.1 – Answer Key_Canvas.docx") [Download edited version of the answer key for the case study has been provided here](https://swu.instructure.com/courses/4178430/files/317247451/download?download_frd=1).  Students are required to use the information to enhance their understanding of the statistical methods and the results obtained.

    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

    **Hematopoietic:**

J.D. is a 37 years old white woman who presents to her gynecologist complaining of a 2-month history of intermenstrual bleeding, menorrhagia, increased urinary frequency, mild incontinence, extreme fatigue, and weakness. Her menstrual period occurs every 28 days and lately there have been 6 days of heavy flow and cramping. She denies abdominal distension, back-ache, and constipation. She has not had her usual energy levels since before her last pregnancy.

    **Past Medical History (PMH):**

Upon reviewing her past medical history, the gynecologist notes that her patient is a G5P5with four pregnancies within four years, the last infant having been delivered vaginally four months ago. All five pregnancies were unremarkable and without delivery complications. All infants were born healthy. Patient history also reveals a 3-year history of osteoarthritis in the left knee, probably the result of sustaining significant trauma to her knee in an MVA when she was 9 years old. When asked what OTC medications she is currently taking for her pain and for how long she has been taking them, she reveals that she started taking ibuprofen, three tablets each day, about 2.5 years ago for her left knee. Due to a slowly progressive increase in pain and a loss of adequate relief with three tablets, she doubled the daily dose of ibuprofen. Upon the recommendation from her nurse practitioner and because long-term ibuprofen use can cause peptic ulcers, she began taking OTC omeprazole on a regular basis to prevent gastrointestinal bleeding. Patient history also reveals a 3-year history of HTN for which she is now being treated with a diuretic and a centrally acting antihypertensive drug. She has had no previous surgeries.

    **Case Study Questions**

    1. Name the contributing factors on J.D that might put her at risk to develop iron deficiency anemia.
    2. Within the case study, describe the reasons why J.D. might be presenting constipation and or dehydration.
    3. Why Vitamin B12 and folic acid are important on the erythropoiesis? What abnormalities their deficiency might cause on the red blood cells?
    4. The gynecologist is suspecting that J.D. might be experiencing iron deficiency anemia.

In order to support the diagnosis, list and describe the clinical symptoms that J.D. might have positive for Iron deficiency anemia.
    5. If the patient is diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia, what do you expect to find as signs of this type of anemia? List and describe.
    6. Labs results came back for the patient. Hb 10.2 g/dL; Hct 30.8%; Ferritin 9 ng/dL; red blood cells are smaller and paler in color than normal. Research list and describe for appropriate recommendations and treatments for J.D.

    **Cardiovascular**

Mr. W.G. is a 53-year-old white man who began to experience chest discomfort while playing tennis with a friend. At first, he attributed his discomfort to the heat and having had a large breakfast. Gradually, however, discomfort intensified to a crushing sensation in the sternal area and the pain seemed to spread upward into his neck and lower jaw. The nature of the pain did not seem to change with deep breathing. When Mr. G. complained of feeling nauseated and began rubbing his chest, his tennis partner was concerned that his friend was having a heart attack and called 911 on his cell phone. The patient was transported to the ED of the nearest hospital and arrived within 30 minutes of the onset of chest pain. In route to the hospital, the patient was placed on nasal cannula and an IV D5W was started. Mr. G. received aspirin (325 mg po) and 2 mg/IV morphine. He is allergic to meperidine (rash). His pain has eased slightly in the last 15 minutes but is still significant; was 9/10 in severity; now7/10. In the ED, chest pain was not relieved by 3 SL NTG tablets. He denies chills.
