How should businesses like YouTube balance the economic costs of copyright infringement, the psychological motivations of users who share or consume free content, and the ethical responsibility to respect creators’ rights?
In your response, draw on at least two different disciplinary perspectives—for example:
Economics: Consider opportunity costs, lost revenue, incentives, and market impact.
Psychology: Consider why people rationalize downloading or sharing copyrighted content (e.g., social norms, “everyone does it,” or instant gratification).
Ethics: Consider fairness, integrity, and the Golden Rule.
Law/Business Strategy: Consider the role of regulation, risk, and partnerships.
Your task: Write a 250 word post analyzing this case from more than one perspective and propose a solution that a business like YouTube could implement to reduce piracy while still supporting creativity, innovation, and user engagement.

Audit of Inventory: Keegan Murphy Cattle Ranch
    ### Overview
This case focuses on the inventory process in the context of a cattle  ranch. Students will learn about how companies and their auditors  perform periodic inventory counts, with a focus on the innovative  practice of using drones and automated counting software to complete the  inventory process. While the case uses biological assets (cattle) as an  example for using drones in counting inventory, it also encourages  students to consider the use of drones in other, more traditional  inventory counts, such as in a warehouse.
    ## Background
You are an auditor tasked with verifying the inventory of Keegan  Murphy Cattle Ranch (KMCR). KMCR owns a large cattle ranch, and the herd  represents an important biological asset (i.e., living animals) of  KMCR. It is, therefore, crucial that the company maintains an accurate  count of the inventory. Each year, KMCR performs an inventory count as  it moves the cattle from their winter pasture to their summer pasture.  The cattle are not easy to count in this process because there are large  numbers of them, they continually move around, and they can be hard to  distinguish from one another.
The traditional method of counting the cattle is to have cowboys and  dogs herd them through a narrow chute, where two people count the  animals as they pass through (the counters). This process is  time-consuming, stressful for the animals, and potentially inaccurate  due to the fast movement of the cattle.
KMCR reported that it sent 2,500 cattle to the winter pasture (these  cattle arrived on trucks two months earlier, and this count can be  considered correct). While in the winter pasture, the ranch hands found  the carcasses of four cattle (likely killed by predators), and two  additional cattle were sick and could not make the trip to the summer  pasture. Thus, the ranch hands expected 2,494 cattle in their count  based on the current inventory records; however, it is possible that  other cattle wandered away or were killed by predators and the ranch  hands were unaware of their disappearance. The two counters initially  reported counting 2,489 and 2,501 cattle. After deliberation, they  agreed to make the final count 2,495 cattle. KMCR management adjusted  the accounting inventory records accordingly.
    ## Part I: Imagine Better and Learn More
Using Drone Technology and Automation to Innovate Inventory Management and Auditing of Inventory
    ### Required
KMCR is interested in making the inventory count process more  efficient and less stressful for the cattle. It is also interested in  improving the accuracy of the inventory data, improving the timeliness  of the reporting, and having the process documented in a better manner.  KMCR has hired you, an outside consultant, to provide information about  using drone technology and automated counting software for the physical  inventory count instead of using the traditional process. KMCR is  especially interested in understanding if these technologies could be  used by external auditors.

    – Do you believe this standard would allow the use of drones and automated counting software? Explain your answer.

    ## Overview
In today’s information age, customers have access to various digital platforms to access and share information. Customers also use these platforms to communicate with service providers, share opinions, and provide feedback. Therefore, it is important for product owners and service providers to be ready with a response plan for all communications over digital platforms.
You are a regional marketing director of a theme park and responsible for designing marketing strategy for the reopening of the park. Each department is helping you with the relevant and required information. As the date of reopening of the parks gets closer, the business intelligence unit of the organization in the scenario has noticed a surge of negative opinions among consumers. This is evident not only on social media platforms but also across a host of other digital media platforms, such as the organization’s websites and other digital information sources. A major cause of concern is that the organization’s ethics are being questioned in most of these negative opinions.
The business intelligence unit has sent a memo to share their concerns. The CMO has asked you to respond to this memo by creating a recommendation report.
    ## Prompt
Write a recommendation report, in a memo format, to the CMO of the organization in the course scenario, describing the strategies to minimize the negative opinion from consumers. Refer to the [Business Intelligence Memo](https://learn.snhu.edu/content/enforced/2012197-MBA-645-10311.202587-1/Course%20Documents/MBA%20645%20Business%20Intelligence%20Memo.pdf?ou=2012197) to ensure adjustments and additions to the plan for stopping negative publicity. In your memo, emphasize the need for cross-functional effort alignment, crisis management, social media response methods, and CSR communications.
Specifically, you must address the following criteria:
    1. Describe how you must now pivot from your previous plan to introduce **strategic changes** to stop negative publicity.
    – Which two steps will you take to effectively address the negative publicity related to the park re-opening?
    2. Describe the **cross-functional effort alignment.**
    – How can the organization’s sales and operations departments help address the negative publicity?
    – How can you use marketing channels to communicate the safety measures to the customers?
    3. Explain how a **crisis communication plan** can improve the organization’s image, when aligned with ethical practices.
    – How would you use your public relations efforts in crisis communication?
    – How would you use your corporate website for crisis communication?
    4. Describe the **social media response methods** to be used in this scenario.
    – How would you address negative comments?
    – How would you answer the safety-related questions?
    5. Describe the **corporate social responsibility (CSR) communications** strategy in this scenario.
    – What are the key CSR initiatives and policies for the organization?
    – What are the key channels of communicating the CSR initiatives?
    ## What to Submit:  Submit a 1- to 2-page Word document using double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, and one-inch margins.

Additional Information: Advice on Choosing a Brand
When selecting a brand for your marketing plan, it's important to choose one that
would benefit from a fresh or revised marketing strategy. Below are some factors to
consider to ensure your selected brand is a good fit for this assignment:

    1. Brand in Need of a Marketing Overhaul
Look for brands that are facing challenges such as:

Declining Sales or Market Share: A brand that has experienced stagnation or
decreased consumer demand over time could benefit from a revitalized
    marketing approach.
Brand Image Issues: Brands damaged by negative publicity, poor customer
perceptions, or outdated branding may need a strategic refresh.
Competitive Pressure: A brand in a highly competitive market or an industry
experiencing new entrants or disruptive technologies may require a new
strategy to maintain or grow market share.

    Due on Oct 12, 2025 11:55 PM

Changing Consumer Preferences: Brands that haven't adapted to shifting
consumer expectations, technological advances, or new social trends might
benefit from a targeted rebranding or marketing strategy.

    2. Opportunities for Market Expansion or Innovation
    Consider brands that are:

Entering a New Market: A company expanding into a new geographic region,
demographic segment, or industry may need a comprehensive marketing plan
to penetrate this new market effectively.
Launching a New Product or Service: If a company introduces a new
product or service that hasn't yet been marketed or is poorly received, this
could be an excellent opportunity to develop a fresh plan targeting the right
    audience.
Diversifying its Offerings: A brand diversifying its product line or broadening
its target demographic can benefit from a well-thought-out marketing strategy
to ensure the new offering resonates with the target audience.

    4. Data Availability and Research Feasibility
Finally, ensure that sufficient data and research are available for your chosen brand.
    This could be through:

Publicly available reports, such as annual reports or industry analyses.
Access to reputable sources of consumer behavior data, trends, and
    competitive analysis.
Case studies or examples from similar brands or companies that have faced
    comparable challenges.

Choosing a brand that clearly needs a new or revised marketing strategy will allow
you to develop a relevant and actionable plan. Ensure the brand has a clearly
defined issue, opportunity, or objective that can be addressed through a
    comprehensive marketing approach.

**Assignment Objective:** In this project, you will be opening your own specialty cookie company to see how product costing methods and changes in production affect business decisions. You will be creating a series of reports and analyzing the results using the template provided to guide you through the project. You will:

    1. Gain an understanding of product costing (direct materials, direct labor, and overhead).

    2. Review job order costing.

    3. Review process costing.

    4. Make business decisions based on analyzing accounting data.

**Length:** **You will prepare a three- to four-page written report** (including spreadsheets) using the
    [Unit III Project Template](https://online.columbiasouthern.edu/bbcswebdav/pid-17551108-dt-asiobject-rid-160894059_1/xid-160894059_1).

**References:** **At least two peer-reviewed sources are required. Resources used are required to be scholarly/academic in nature and found in the CSU Library. APA Style is required for citations and references.**

**Details: First, start the paper with an introduction section per the assignment template provided above.**

Part 1: Establish a cookie business selling only one type of specialty cookie with two employees making the cookies.

    · Create a name and establish a location for the business.

    · Construct a mission statement for the business.

    · Decide on the type of cookie you want to make and sell.

Part 2: Develop costing and sales information for 1,000 cookies (this is the first and only order).

    · Estimate and explain the cost per cookie based on job order costing (manufacturing overhead is 30% of direct labor costs). Prepare a job order cost sheet by researching and identifying the top five ingredients and their estimated costs as your direct materials. Research and identify the cost of wages for your two employees as your direct labor. It typically takes two days to make 1,000 cookies.

    · For process costing, examine the costs per 1,000 cookies looking at these top three processes (departments): Mixing, Add-ins, Packaging.

    · The Mixing Department will be examined in depth (only do this department).

    · All materials will be added in at the beginning of the process.

    · The cookies will be in the Mixing Department for a total of 8 hours (use two employees, 4 hours each as your direct labor). The cookies will be 100% complete with respect to materials, and only be 40% complete with respect to conversion costs (labor and overhead) before they are transferred to the Add-ins Department. Manufacturing overhead is 30% of direct labor costs.

    · Estimate and explain the sales price you plan to set per cookie based on the cost data.

    ·

Part 3: Define job order and process costing. Then, compare and contrast the costing methods used in this project (job order vs. process costing), including which you believe provides the most useful information as a manager.

Part 4: Discuss what will happen to revenue if the number of the cookies sold increases or decreases.

End this paper with the key observations and present any future recommendations.

    Use the
[Unit III Cookie Project Spreadsheet Templates](https://online.columbiasouthern.edu/bbcswebdav/pid-17551108-dt-asiobject-rid-160894062_1/xid-160894062_1) for your job order, and process costing spreadsheets to be embedded in your case study document.
